    Protein Shake Combos

I just sprinkle the s/f jello or puddings in the mix and either shake it in my Blender Bottle or I use the electric blender. I purchased a small container of the Pure Protein Vanilla Creme to make sure I like it before buying the big container. I am going to try s/f cheesecake pudding w/blueberry Greek yogurt.

    Protein Shake Combos

I use Pure Protein Vanilla Creme powder & mix it with different s/f jello's or puddings as well as flavorings to make different kinds of shakes. Two of my favorites are s/f pistachio pudding w/almond flavoring and s/f chocolate pudding w/ 2Tbsp of Peanut Butter...One scoop of protein powder has 25 g of protein...sometimes I ad Greek yogurt 14 g and 1/3 cup of non-fat dry milk 8 g...so one with all of these has 47 g of protein. Another shake I like is pineapple Greek yogurt w/ s/f orange jello. I also have found that there is no aftertaste from this protein powder. Just some things that I've tried.

    Guess Who's Sleeved?!

    Congratulations...wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  5. Hello... I use Pure Protein Vanilla Creme & mix in sugar free jello's or puddings to make different flavors..some of my favorites are s/f chocolate pudding with 2 tbsp of peanut butter or s/f pistachio pudding with almond flavoring added to 12 oz of water, some ice and 1 scoop of the protein powder...Have tried many other combinations like s/f orange jello (creamsicle), s/f lemon pudding...this morning I tried s/f chocolate pudding with a packet of chocolate raspberry truffle instant coffee and it was really good...you can also add greek yogurt to boost protein from 25g to 39g...Prior to my nutrition appointment I always used Atkins but I found this to be much less $ and more tasty and doesn't leave the after taste.
  6. I was first considering the Lap Band as well but I started researching the Sleeve which I seem to think is a better choice. Yesterday, I had my third appointment with the surgeon and I told him that I had changed my mind to the Sleeve and he asked me why. I told him first when I attended the support group a few weeks ago no one in the group had the Lap Band nor was waiting to have it done...everyone either had the Sleeve or RNY. He did state that he believes I made the right decision and many of the Lap Bands their practice has performed are being revised to the Sleeve. He said I would have much more success with the Sleeve and their practice has only had one patient with a leak which was fixed by a revision to RNY. He did explain many of the different complications patients have with the Lap Band like slippage, port revision and body rejection. I have found an abundant amount of support in this decision from many people on this forum as well as the support groups offered. I wish you the best of luck with whatever decision that you choose!!
  7. My third visit with the surgeon was yesterday. I have completed all of my pre-surgery requirements; however, he stated that I have a severe case of obstructive sleep apnea and the only missing piece to the puzzle is the CPAP study. I wasn't scheduled for this until November 17th but I called the Sleep Center yesterday & they were able to change my appointment to next Wednesday!! Have any of you had to have this follow up study done & what does it consist of? I am hoping to get a sleeve date in late Nov. early Dec. Since this WLS journey began in July I have lost over 40 pounds and many inches as I have went from a size 28 to a 20!!!
  8. When I first started this journey in July I was looking into the Lap Band but now I am considering the Sleeve. For those of you that made the choice also what are some of the considering factors that helped you with your decision? All of my pre-surgery testing was completed in September and I attended a group support last week and most of the people that were there had either the RNY or Sleeve; no one had the Lap Band nor was awaiting to have the Lap Band. I have to meet with the surgeon on the 24th so hopefully he will have some answers for me. One thing that scares me with the Sleeve is I have read numerous times that the surgery is irreversible so what if something goes wrong how is it corrected with only a small portion of your stomach remaining?

    Lap Band Or Sleeve

Thank you everyone for your thoughts...I think I am aiming towards the Sleeve . At my last appointment with NP she suggested the Sleeve as she stated patient's were not very successful with the Lap Band. Prior to that appointment I thought the Lap Band would be the best as it is the least invasive but I am learning there are more complications with it than the Sleeve...Thanks again for all of your input on this life changing decision!!
