    Pre-op weight 220lbs or under

My weight the day of surgery (11/13/12) was 172. My BMI was 31. I paid out of pocket bc my insurance wouldn't cover me unless I had a BMI of at least 35. I had gone through a lot of trouble (dieting, rigorous exercise, etc) to get down to the weight I was at presurgery and I could feel it starting to creep back on. I didn't want to wait until my BMI was back at 35 to have the surgery. I honestly feel like there is a bit of prejudice against people having surgery with lower BMI's. Like we should just be able to do it on our own without any problems. To those people I want to say, if it's so easy to lose the weight while you're at a lower BMI with out a tool like the sleeve, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO IT when your BMI was lower? I can list a million diets/ workout routines I've tried and it has been extremely hard to maintain the weight I was presurgery. Bottom line, I was sick of the yo-yo dieting, the constant gaining and losing and feeling like crap about myself. I explained my situation to my surgeon, who was extremely supportive and we set the surgery for two months after my initial consultation. Anyway, enough of my rant. I am now about a month post op and am down to 149.8 as of this morning! I had the single incision surgery (though my belly button) and I couldn't be happier!

    Emotions make my sleeve tight?

When I got into an argument with my significant other during lunch, I found myself unable to eat at all. lost my appetite completely, and couldn't even bring myself to put my spoon in my mouth. Pre-surgery, I would have happily comforted myself with my food.

  4. I was sleeved on Nov 13th, I'm down 17.9 pounds. I've noticed my weight loss has definitely started to slow the last few days too.

What Dish To Take To A Christmas Party

Are you allowed pudding during this time? If so you could make the following dessert: Cool Whip Pudding Introduction It comes out sort of like mousse! Minutes to Prepare: 5 Number of Servings: 8 Ingredients Any Flavor - 4 serving size - sugar free Fat Free Jell-O Pudding 8 oz Container of Cool Whip Free 1 - Cup of FF Milk (or HEB mootopia) which has Protein Directions Beat with electric beater for 2 minutes. Put in the refrigerator for at least two hours. I put mine in individual 1/2 cup serving containers that come with lids so I can take them in my lunch for work. Keeps well for a week; I am thinking about trying to freeze some too. Number of Servings: 8
  7. question for the ladies, men disregard. Have any of you experienced excruciating menstrual cramps after the sleeve on the first day of your period? This has only happened to me once before (pre-sleeve) and the pain was gone the following day. I am praying this is the case today as well. I will be calling the dr. tomorrow
