slimagainsoon replied to Backtome-soon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Praying that all goes well and u have a smooth recovery!!! -
I am 5'6 weight 216. I have NC BCBS. My doctor submitted my paper work tuesday. I am waiting patiently for an answer. I have faith and believe I will be approved. I have the same medical issues as you plus GERD. I just told the doctor what diets over the years I had tried and he wrote it down. I did not have to show proof of what diets. They required two years proof from doctor my weights. Hower, 2010 I never went to the doctor so I had to send them a picture of me in 2010.So hopefully soon we both will be on the losers bench. Believe!!!! and it will happen.

Whey Proteins And Heart Palpitation
slimagainsoon commented on NIKIMAC's blog entry in NIKIMAC's Blog
There are different foods you can get your protein from if you an not tolerate the drinks. I se the powered protein drink and mix with water instead of milk. The choca is great.Ensure has protein too.The Unjury online has broth with 21 grams of protein. -
Congrats!!!!!
-
Try drinking a protein drink 30 minutes before workingout and a light meal. That helps me. I use the Whey protein drink mix. Still drink a protein drink afterwards too.

God Bless you and may you have a speedy recovery!!!

My surgeon gave me a book with all the information I would need. The day before surgery liquid diet has to be clear liquids. water coffee tea apple juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, bouillion broth, clear popsicles, soda and gelatin After mid nite no food or drink. Stomach has to be empty for surgery. one week after surgery still clear liquids. sugar free jello can be included. second week after surgery Full liquids milk, milk products, or one special protein drink carnation instant breakfast, no sugar added tomato soup plain yogurt Every surgeon requires different things for their patients. I shared my surgeon liquid diet. Sip on 64 oz of water also daily. Please do talk to your surgeon. I am sure its not too much diffence.

My Progress Post Op Update !
slimagainsoon replied to jessfharris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rock that sleeve you go! Divorce can be tough. Been there done that. I wish you the best. You continue to take care of your self . Everything will be alright! Nice pics! Hopefully in a couple weeks I will hear from my surgeon about surgery date. I have completed all preoperative steps. Live your life to the fullest. God Bless -
Welcome to this forum. When I started this journey I had so many questions too. When I went to my first visit with my surgeon he gave me a kit with a booklet that answerd my questions. He also answered them for me. I was assigned to a case manager and she emails me to see where I am in the process. It is a process. Each surgeon has their list of pre operative appointments, that has to be done before insurance will approve the surgery. It also depends on your health issues. For me, I had to see or have Therapist Nutritionist Chest xray EKG Sleep Study Gallbladder ultrasound blood work If you have already had some of these testing they can use them if recent. They want to ensure we are healthy enough to have surgery. I didn't go to the seminar we had the option of viewing video online or in person. Research all you can. This site is awesome. I also viewed the sleeved procedure on youtube. Its gross lol, but I wanted to see exactly what is going to take place I am taking 4 weeks off. Everone is different. I read some posts where they took 1 or 2 weeks off. I think it depends on your age and type of work you do. I work in law enforcement and I am 47. I want to be healed and know how my tummy will be function. Some say, they experience excess gas after surgery. I am going to try the isoplus whey 60 grain protein at Walmart. I heard chocolate and strawberry are good choices. No, everyone don't use the same protein drinks. Make sure its low in calories. My surgeon have their on store on site with the vitamins, mineral and different protein drinks. I will try different ones before surgery which I am hoping for end of Nov. I have completed all my pre oper as of yesterday. Good luck!!!

Hello, you inspire me. I see you weight 226. We started same weight. I started my journey in Sept weighting 226. I weight 216 now. I have had all the required pretesting. Did my last one today. Hopefully, in the next two weeks I should hear whether I am approved yet and get my surgery date. My cousin started before me and her surgery date took two weeks and we both have the same insurance co. Did your nutrition tell you that weighting under 160 for your age wouldn't look right on you? Minds did. I am 5feet 6 inches. I have always been beween 113 and 160. I am 47 started menopause 7 years ago and the last 10years starting gaining weight. Her goal for me is 160. My goal for me os 130 to 145 hopefully. She said she wanted me to be reaslistic having this surgery. Some people can be so rude. Anyway, i am glad i found this website it has so much valuable information on it. Congrats on your marriage. That is so wonderful! Good luck on your surgery date. Did you say your surgeon only done 5 sleeves???? Hoping to see you on the losers bench real soon. Welcome to the forum.

Marriage Issues Already!?
slimagainsoon replied to KickRocks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, I could have wrote your post! My husband is acting the same way. He even had the nerve to say when I lose weight, I will leave him. He pisses me off with being so insecure. I am doing this for my health and its really embrassing going to the pretests and he is not there. I only have one more test which is the ERD and I have to have a driver so he has no choice but to go. I made sure I schedule it on his off day so he want have no excuse. It hurts when your love ones don't support you. Its all good. I am still getting it done. My husband is also overweight and needs to lose weight too. He has had a stroke, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetics but he refuses to get the surgery and feel nothing is wrong with his weight. I was his caregiver when he had to learn how to walk all over again due to the stroke. Anyway, back to your question. Pray and believe that everything will work out. I read a post where a guy felt the same way when his wife had the surgery and he was so encouraged after seeing her lose weight that he had the sleeve several months later too. That's what I am hoping that by me having the surgery, that it want only help me, but hopefully he will be encouraged and do the same. I have decided to stop stressing him about it and not bring it up to him. I feel the less I talk about to him the less he will kill my joy about it. Anyway, keep the faith and I hope all turn out well. Pretty soon we will be on the losers bench and hopefully our husbands will too. If not, we will still love them. -
Congrats!!! Thats what I am talking about! I know you is so excited to have your sleeve and to begin the journey of a healthy you. I am so excited for you. Pray for me, I have my last procedure ERD Wednesday. Hopefully, in a few weeks if not sooner they will be calling me with a surgery date and I will be joining you on the losers bench. My insurance only required one year weight history.
