Dr neff is my surgeon. He performed my Gastric Sleeve in December 2013 and then my revision to Gastric Bypass August 7, 2015. I have been seeing him for over 2 years and he is an amazing Dr. He is patient and kind and will take as much time as you need during your visit, plus if you bring a family member, like one time I brought my mom and at surgery I brought my husband, he also stops and asks them if they have any questions!!! It was absolutely amazing how o see him interact with my mom and put her nerves to rest!!! I absolutely love him and BOTH of my surgeries were great!!!

How did you know or find out you pulled some stitches?? And what was done for it?? I am afraid I may have done the same thing.... So kind of curious if I should be worried or not... Any info would be appreciated THANKS! ~Faith~

Getting so excited and nervous ... I fell asleep tonight for all of about 2 hours and now after tossing and turning for a while I got outta bed and here I am... Wide awake!! Oh well... I'll get some sleep tomorrow during surgery...LOL...

I am December 30th and started my pre op diet on Monday... Having a bit of a hard time staying on track... But trying really really hard to.Good to meet you and share our journeys!!

Hi, from what I understand every Dr is different or at least they differ slightly in what they are allowing their patients to eat. My dr allows 3-4 protein shakes and one small meal every night except for 24 hours prior to surgery. Some Drs aren't allowing that or just veggies and such. It is probably best to check with your Dr as to what he's allowing on his PreOp diet requirements!!! I started my diet yesterday... So we around the same time surgery wise!!! Good luck!!!

My date is 12/30 also just waiting for approval. I also have UHC!! So hopefully I am as lucky as you time wise!!

I am having my surgery on the 30th!!! I just love seeing the pictures from people who have paved the way ahead of me!!! You are all such inspiration and I hope to be posting pics on here someday too!!!! Thank you for the boot in the ass I need sometimes when I doubt!! <3 <3 <3

I too am nervous and have also added to my occasional prayers "and please God let me live through this and be healthy" at the end of every prayer or wish .... So I am just glad to read that I am not the only one dwelling on the worst case scenario .... Thank you!!! I do feel better. I also feel that because my Drs have have told me I will NOT live if I don't lose weight ... the surgery is the better choice because without it I will definitely eventually die from one of my MANY co-morbidities. See everyone on the losers bench!!

Hey there ThicknThin.... I am going to call Lori tomorrow and see where I am with submitting and approval. I did everything I was supposed to, but I just realized I am assuming the other Drs sent everything in a timely manner... And you know what they say about assuming...LOL... Fingers crossed for me!!! I'll keep you guys posted!!

Hi Time4... I had my appt with Dr Neff on November 21st and scheduled my surgery that day and my surgery is scheduled for December 30th .... I was originally offered December 23rd but I couldn't do it because of Christmas. So that is about one month out. I hope this helps.

Congrats on your surgery!!! I am so glad to hear you are doing well. I am going a little nuts between the Christmas shopping and the surgery shopping and I am pricing proteins rinks out at stores like ShopRite and Walmart and Walgreens because I don't want to be dependent on delivery schedules and stuff... Plus I am forgetful and I know I will just forget to order and have no "food" at some point. LOL @Thick n Thin... How are things coming along with you? Did you get insurance approval yet? Did you start you 2 week pre op? ... How is it going? Keep me posted hon .... Talk to everyone soon!!

Hey guys!!!! Thick n Thin... You are 1 week ahead of me.... So funny because the first date they offered me was the 23rd bummer because we could have been hall walking buddies!!!! But I didn't want to be in the hospital for Christmas... I have 4 kids and I host Christmas dinner for the family.... Do you have to do a two week pre-op diet? I do... I am waiting on my PCP letter and my Pulmonologist clearance... Both will be done this week... Sorry I didn't write back sooner... Sometimes I don't get on here for a few days... We should try to meet up before surgery somewhere half way.... SandeeD.... Thank you ... I am excited and wigged out and ready and nervous and crazy!!! All at the same time!!! But we are all doing this for healthier lives so it all tends to fall into place... When is your surgery scheduled?? It's great we can all be there for each other... No matter how near or how far... Z28 and rpcamper... It's great we are all heading down the same road at the same time!!! I used to have Dr Attia but then my insurance changed so I switched... He is cool I liked him while he was my surgeon!!

I just met with DrNeff today.... I got my Surgery Date!!!! December 30th... I didn't know about the Pre-op class until today so now I have to go in December... Bummer I would have loved to have gone with you Thick n Thin!! Things have just been so crazy here... But I am going to start Atlanticare's support group in January... Maybe I will go to Decembers but it is their Holiday Party and I will feel like a "party-crasher" .... Unless you wanna crash with me?

When and where is November pre-op class?? I will go ...

Cardio: if you have any problems and even sometimes when you don't ... Cardiac Stress Test Pulmonology: do a Pulmonary Function Test Cardiac Stress Test. Is when you run on a tread mill hooked up to EKG Pulmonary Function test is a bunch of blowing into a tube while a computer measures your output Both are fairly simple and we'll worth it for the clearance and if you survived the nasty Barium Swallow... Those will be CAKE!!!

I am doing well... Almost done all my pre-op... I have my cardiology, pulmonology, psychology, upper GI, and sleep study done... I have to have CPAP so I have that on November 14th and then I need to collect my 5 year weight history. I also have my pre-op appointment with dr Neff on the 21st so hopefully it will all be done and they can submit to insurance!! I am getting so close and I can hardly wait.

I will check into the one at the library and see fits free.. Let's hope!!

Hey ladies!! EHT is where I live so yeah we are pretty close... I love the Cape May Zoo!! I agree it's quite a trip to Cherry Hill.... But I believe it will all be worth it.... And I would love to find a support group... I will keep looking although Atlanticare is not far from me. Let me know if you guys find anything out...

Thank you so much for all the info and I am so very glad we are "Sleeve Sisters" .... Maybe one day when we are all sleeved we can meet up somewhere and take walk or do something healthy... Since my first instinct is to say meet for lunch or coffee... But... Now I gotta figure a new way to socialize.... But hey maybe we can all learn together...
