About Me
I am a 44 year old band to sleeve patient who is 7days post-op. I had my band put in in August of 08' and had great results for the first 3.5 years. My highest weight was 323lbs and at the time of my band surgery journey it was 311lbs. I managed to lose as much as 71 from my day of surgery (290lbs) 8/20/08 and 92 from my highest weight. I began suffering sever acid reflux and inability to digest the leanest meats, triggering that something was wrong. I stopped losing weight even though following basic guidelines and after consulting with my surgeon and being alerted of the new findings regarding failed lap-bands, decided to have the revision done. It took about 2 months for the approval from insurance. After in recovery from my sleeve revision surgery (10/3/12) I was alerted that my band was imbedded with scar tissue and it was one of the worst cases he had ever seen. This was the cause of my problems and I'm thankful to God that it was taken out before any more damage happened. This week has been good, even with tearful moments. However I'm looking forward to this journey again.
