Way to go, keep up the good work .

Today marks one month for me!! My weight has held at 248, down 27 lbs, I too removed the scale, it was becoming an obsession....lol. I am having a hard time with solids, dumping.....grrr. I was such a picky eater prior, it is even more challenging for me and I can't get all the water down! Not doing good with the vitamins (not taking them at all) thought I was on the right track but I guess not. All the mental preparation I had before seems to have slipped away, anyone else feel they are in the same boat?

Well that's a lot, whew! I hope you recover soon, keep us posted

Hi All, how is everyone doing?
-
Hope all is well Alicia

My start weight was 301 in April, pre-op 275, current 256!! Woo hoo! Great job everyone Probably still feeling the air, I felt that way for about a week after surgery.
-
Could be I had I high weight to start with, my highest weight was 301, now I am at 256, 275 pre-op, they say the bigger you are the faster you lose or my scale is off...lol. At least you are doing good with your protein, I cannot get the shakes down, I just drink water (and no where near the 64 ozs), Crystal Light and soup, I run out of energy pretty early. Good luck

Have a great weekend everyone, down 16 lbs since my Oct 16th surgery. Went to gym yesterday, God is good! Stay positive and keep up the good work
-
I had a cold a week before surgery too, I stayed in bed, took sudafed and Benadryl. It's really up to the anesthesiologist, your lungs have to be clear. Good luck

We all will overcome this, my husband and I are separated but he came back to help take care of me, if he wasn't here I am sure I would be an emotional wreck. My struggles are with hunger, I am supposed to be on water and protein shakes for another week. I cannot do the protein shakes like before surgery and i cannot get in the 64 ozs of water. I have had broth, cream of wheat, Popsicles and cream of chicken soup no more than 1/4 cup, no problems with any of them. It makes me nervous that I didn't have nausea or dumping, is that normal? Am I going to screw the whole procedure up if I can tolerate food so soon? These are the things that I struggle with, the future. I am able to walk a mile in under 20 min at the gym and that keeps me motivated. To those having surgery soon, you will be fine and do just great. Have faith, stay confident and stay on this support website. It has helped me tremendously. Good luck ????

Hope everyone had an awesome day, I did!! Keep up the good work, stay focused and confident in your decisions.... Oh yeah.......GO GIANTS!!!!!

Jhumpries, glad to see you are home and doing better, a supportive family really helps, I will pray that your family comes around and rallies around you. I went through Kaiser and do not have a post op for another few weeks, confirms all drs gave different ideas. I made my family a big meatloaf dinner, I sure was tempted but had to stick to my guns, they haven't had a home cooked meal in a while and decided its not their fault so why should they suffer. They were ecstatic to smell the aroma from the kitchen, after all how many sandwiches can one take....lol. Take care

Could be gas, walk around that helped me with the gas. I am started to get the hunger pains. I have been on liquids since Tuesday. I see others trying cream of wheat, I am wondering if I should try that....hmmmm

Did You Have Only Liquids One Week Postop?

Great job Jennie!! My highest weight was 301 lbs, my goal for surgery was 280 lbs, I was at 275 lbs day of surgery and today weighed in at 268! Last night was the best sleep I had, we even had an earthquake and I slept right through it....lol. I took some of the pain meds before I went to sleep to help me and it did the trick. Hopefully, you will get a good nights sleep real soon. Today I have the most energy I have had since my surgery on the 16th, think I may get out if the house Have a blessed day! -
Did You Have Only Liquids One Week Postop?

Good to hear everyone doing well, I had surgery on the 16th and am down 7 lbs. I have only walked for 15 min three days but an going to increase that starting today. It's awesome to see everyone's success, keep up the good work. -
How much are you taking in? I am not doing the 64 ozs the dr recommended, I take small sips every 20 - 30 min or so, trying some broth now and it feels good on my tummy. My larger incision is the one that is bothering me too, I need to do more walking, I think it may be the gas. Good luck everyone we are at the beginning of a long raid but we can do it.

I was not a scared at all, I guess I figured I worked so hard to get there that it was my reward. Good luck to you, you will be fine

Feeling better today, I think I let me paranoia get the best of me. Too nervous to take more than a sip of anything. Drank some Crystal Light which was great on my taste buds, today I am going to try Popsicles and some broth. I still have discomfort but I really try to not take the hydrocodone. How are you all doing with your incisions?

I had surgery on the 16th, liquids only so far, really just water, had 1/2 a protein shake today. I am scared to drink anything. Not too much nausea just feeling a little weak but I was able to walk for about 15 minutes today. Good luck everyone -
Wow Honey that is great, I went for a 10 minute walk. I think I just need to catch up on some sleep, my 1st night I was monitored every 2 hrs because of my blood pressure. I am drinking water but I need to drink more and had a protein shake today. Keep up the good work
-
Good morning all, had my surgery on the 16th and am so sluggish, had anyone felt this was too on day 4?
-
Way to go Jill, I have been home 24 hrs, feeling a little sluggish, I need to get my water intake up and start on my protein shakes. I am able to walk around with no problem. Keep up the good work ????
-
So glad to hear Honey! I came home last night and feel pretty amazing, my first night in the hospital I didn't get much sleep because if my heart rate and blood pressure but I made up for it last night (nothing better than being in your own bed). I have a lot of gas but walking and burping is helping a lot...lol. So excited for our new journey, well wishes for you.
