I am having mine next Wed. 10/27. Tracy, my friend had hers with Dr Kim and when he went in he found a hernia so he billed the ins. for the hernia and she got $6500 back....

10/17 is my date. I went for pre-op and pre admissions today. They could not find a vein to get the blood for labs. Took them 4 sticks in 4 places, digging around and blew out 2 of my veins. I hope this is not a prelude to what's to come. I am still excited and maybe a little anxious. 3 days now on the CLEAR liquids... not hungry yet so that is good. May God be with each and every one of you as you take this journey. I love this site!

Hi I am a newbie. I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 17th. I am so overwhelmed with info. Would anyone like to walk with me on this path? I could use a mentor to help me be on the right path and keep me on it. I will try to make a good buddy for you.

Wow... I bet you are frustrated. I know I would be. I only had 3 months to wait for approval but was assured by my Dr that I would get the approval and I did. Good luck... Hi neighbor.... I have BCBS too. I live in Texas as well. I had to go through 3 months of nutritional visits and also a few other Dr. visits but they approved it with no problem... You will be approved in no time... When is your surgery scheduled? or do you have a date yet?

Wish I could have pudding or protein shakes. He has me on a "clear" liquid diet. Day 2 so far so good....

Good luck girls... My surgery is Oct 17 so I am a day behind you. I started my clear liquid diet yesterday so have only lost 2 lbs pre op. Did you have to go on a diet earlier?

WOW since March! that is a long time. I think I would be going nuts by now. I started this in July and that feels like forever. Ohh well... at least we are on the down slide. Next week will be here before you know it. Praying for ya girl..... I know it will all be worth the wait.

Hi Aliasmith... I can relate. It took my insurance 3 months but Dr only has me on a 1 week liquid diet. I started today as my sleeve is next Wed. I feel a little confused as well. Not sure what about just overwhelmed I guess. Good luck girl!

I hope you get an early morning too. I go for my pre-op test on Fri. I have been through a lot of test this year so I don't think there will be any problems. I'm looking forward to sitting with you on the loser/healthy bench too!

Me too! we can do this!.... I just got a call from my Dr's office. They finally got the final approval from the ins. co and my surgery is a go for next wed at 7:30. Can't wait and all nervous now. What time is yours scheduled for?

Just got the call from my Dr's office. Finally got the final approval from insurance co. Seems like they always want something else. Actually they have been pretty good about it. Set to go at 7:30 next Wed.... now I really am getting nervous.

My Dr has me on a clear liquid diet. I started today and my surgery is one week from today. He explained to me that the clear liquid diet was to shrink the liver. They have to lift it up during surgery and he said if they don't shrink it a little that it would crack and bleed, causing them to have problems seeing what they are doing. Not sure if this helps answer your question or not. The headaches could be caused from withdraw of caffeine. I get migraines if I quit drinking soda or coffee suddenly. If that is it then it will get better really soon. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. Remember will be all worth it...

I started my clear liquid diet today. Surgery will be next Wed. Hope I can handle this diet. So far it is not bad but I am sure it will get harder later. Friday night we have a big restaurant of the month meeting with my scuba club. I am trying to figure out how to handle that without looking obvious. Any suggestions beside just not going?
