    Whag Are U Craving

omg you guys, I'm 6 weeks out and I'm experimenting on food. Ill be honest, my taste buds taste food much different now. I feel nauseous going near garlic, I don't eat meat amymore because its too heavy and I feel like I want to gag. Also, does anyone get thick saliva after eating? if so, why is that!?

My Day Is Nov 5Th Yayyyyy!

Congratulations everyone!! Now to begin your pre-op diet! and try very hard to stick to it, because after surgery... water and fluids will become your bestfriends. hahaha, I'm nearly 2 months post-op and I'm still having difficult with eating solid food, but water and protein is my #1 priority.

I Sure The Hell Did Lol

when did u have surgery?! its probably best if you don't eat any meat until you're 4-6 months out. Only because, you will run the risk of stretchy your sleeve and/or experience horrible constipation. And as for me, I can't have gravy or sauces on anything it makes me very nauseous, hahaha! is it the same for anyone else?!
  4. starting weight: 232 surgery day: 9/07/12 current weight: 206 halloween goal: 192- FUN CONTEST!! whoever reaches their goal should post up a photo of their halloween costume!! haha

  7. okay I happen to believe I have the best ways to deal with this: #1. eat Soups #2. appetizers #3. house salad #4. half meal plate #5. childrens menu orrrr.... #6. don't drink anything 1.5 hours prior to going to the dinner party and try to "eat a normal" plate and cut up everything super tiny, pretend your a baby and you will choke if you take full on adult bites hahhhaha. Then once youre full say, "oh man, I don't feel too good!" and either leave or go to the bathroom and vomit it out. remember, be precautious!! :-D good luckz!!
  8. its different for every person, weight, height, pain tolerance all of these play a role in your recovery. I am 21 years old and was sleeved in September; by day 4 post-op I was working already. Best of Luck!

    3 Weeks Out

yes, I know how that feels like. even know (5weeks post-op) I can't seem to take down all of my required protein, but don't stress out! drink fluids, don't eat "real" food. kinda starve yourself, but in a good way hahaha, I hope I'm making sense... like for instance: if u get hungry drink cool ice chips, water, liquids, sugar free popsicles, anything with ice/water!! it helped me a lot, during my first 3-4 weeks I never ate food and I'm now 30 pounds lighter. and my hair has not fallen out. I feel sooo good! best of luck!
  10. it happens to all of us!! you'll be just fine. Just eat tiny little bites, act as if you are a baby and you must chew your food 20x's. I'm also having trouble learning how to re-eat! hahah, its a beautiful challenge tho, I'm down 28 pounds my first month!
  11. hi everyone, I was sleeved on 9/7/12 and I'm down 27 pounds!! :-D
  12. hi, no photos here. but my incisions closed within less than a week! they did not hurt at all! I'm 5 weeks post-op and they are literally 1 cm long.
  13. hey! don't sweat it. I don't have children, but I do live with my fiancee and he is just like a big kid... he's always munchin' on sweets, heavy carbs and doesn't gain anything! ugh! its annoying. Anyways continuing... I am one month post-op and yes it gets easier... think about it this way.. if you cook, cook "really" whatever you think it enough for your family because remember, you can't have no more than 3 small bites. your bestfriend will be liquids and popsicles, like it still is in my case! hahah and I got some tips on dining out: don't order a full size meal unless you and the other person will share it... instead order; the "half meal" , a side dish, the house salad, or my favorite- an appetizer! so, don't feel weird or awkward because you did this surgery for a great reason, ok! Hope this helps! P.S. eat slow, chew chew chew otherwise you will get gag reflex!

    Gag Reflex

I've been having horrible gag reflexs as well. I'm exactly one month post-op and everytime I eat or drink ANYTHING I will develop thick saliva and it makes me want to throw up!! :/ is this normal? is anyone else going through this?
