Don't stress this is all par for the course especially with all you've been through lately. Keep your spurts up. This too shall pass. -
Sleeved and can't stop vomiting
Fitjen replied to Chubarella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I vomited so much I thought I was dying! Seriously considered begging my surgeon to put my stomach back. But after the 4th day I felt like a new woman. -

A question of image for the post ops
Fitjen replied to gelen's_change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little over 3 months out and have lost around 69 lbs (49 since surgery). I still see a fat girl in the mirror and am really struggling to see what everyone else sees. My clothes don't fit anymore and I know I'm losing but hoping to see it myself someday. I do get cranky at times not because I'm hungry but I think I miss certain foods at times. With that said I'd do it again in a second. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I have a ton of energy and have noticed I hate sitting still! -
I'm 3 months out and was just thinking the same. It's a lot tougher than I thought it would be. I don't think you can ever be really prepared for all the changes. It really grinds on my nerves when someone insinuates i took the "easy" way out. An alcoholic and a smoker can have moments where they give into temptation. We cant this soon out even if we wanted to. Hang in there. It's going to be worth it.

Struggling in hotel room
Fitjen replied to tzepeda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you pre or post op? My first time traveling post op was a struggle. I ended up surviving off Greek yogurt and protein drinks. You can do this. It's hard but so worth it! -
Need non-gross chewable Vitamin recommendations ....gummies?
Fitjen replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take bariatric fusion vitamins in orange cream flavor. I get them from my doc but have seen them on amazon. They're not bad as far as vitamins go. -
Christmas Day Challenge!
Fitjen replied to AKSleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost there!!! 200.... Onederland by tomorrow? -
I am 8 weeks out and am feeling the same. I asked my surgeron about it yesterday and he said it's different for everyone and not to worry as long as I maintain restriction. I hate It! I've noticed that it arrives on schedule right before meal time and I feel like I could eat a horse. It's frustrating because I am bursting full with less than 1/4 cup. I had hoped to be one of the lucky ones who have no hunger. I get all of my water in, only eat protein (over 60 gms/day), no snacking and am taking a PPI twice a day. Not sure what else to try.

I'm on the coast, Newport area. I was sleeved 10/03/12 by Dr. Scarborough in Corvallis.

Chewable Iron - Anyone Taking
Fitjen replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Plan ahead. Iron supplements can cause upset stomach and constipation. -
My favorite so far is premier protein from Costco. They taste best cold and are an easy grab and go on busy mornings.

October Sleevers-How Ya Doin?
Fitjen replied to Holly5.3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 10/03 down 27 lbs since surgery 20 lbs pre-op. I'm amazed by this whole process. While it was hard those first few weeks now that I'm on normal food (though much less) feeling better than ever! -
Now that is something I couldn't agree with more. It took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs pre-op (that I would have gained back without surgery) and 3 weeks to lose 27 post op. you made a great decision! Having had the band I'm sure you know what you're getting into. Best of luck. You're scheduled on my sons birthday.

One Year Out....what A Ride!
Fitjen replied to Lisa :)'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You're such an inspiration! What an amazing journey I'm hoping to have a 5 k in my future and you're doing triathlons wow! -
I'm excited you are joining the sleevers club, but you should know it ISN'T all smooth sailing! The first few weeks are down right rough for most. Some even wonder if they've made a mistake. I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" but I want you to be prepared. I had 6 months of bariatric counseling and thought I knew exactly how it would go. Boy was I wrong! While most of it was mental I experienced hunger and it was tough to be on a different diet than my family. I was on an emotional roller coaster for weeks and felt like I had permanent PMS. This is not a magic wand cure it is a tool that takes work. I'm 6 weeks out and am now feeling like myself again. I'd do it over in a heartbeat but it hasn't been all roses. This forum has been awesome and is a great support in being successful.
