Bahaha, comparing killing someone to someone taking a bite of lasagna! This thread is getting way out of hand and Fishy I think you are far too invested.
  2. I have a gym membership but never go! I do zumba on the Wii and Wii Fit for yoga. I also have a Jillian Michaels DVD that kicks my butt! I find I am more successful working out at home. Although I would love to get out of the house, I just don't have time!

Whoops! Ignore the coordinator part I guess I was remembering another post. But you did come here for support!

I don't agree that she is in dire need of help or is risking her life over one bite of lasagna. The first couple of weeks are hard. Especially if you have a family to cook for. I cook for my family every night and those first few weeks were difficult. One time, I took a bite of Jambalaya and spit it out (gross!) Another time I ate mashed potatoes while on clear liquids. You are an adult who doesn't need scolding. You knew you shouldn't have done that and even called your coordinator. Seems like you took responsibility for your actions. Don't let these people make you feel stupid over one bite. We are ALL here because of issues with food!

    Food Post-Op

I was not in a lot of pain at all. I was up and moving immediately after surgery. By the time I came home, I was looking after my 7 wk old and 4 yr old boys.
  6. I didn't feel normal until about week 3. You will be fine just yake it one day at a time!

    Food Post-Op

I'm only six weeks out but I think having a passion for cooking will help you. Don't eat processed/precooked junk! You want to feed your body healthy food with nutrition! If it's empty calories, don't eat it. The surgery has helped me learn to eat to live not live to eat. I cook all of my food so I know exactly what's in it. I wouldn't prepare too much before surgery because sometimes your taste buds change and at first you really can't eat a whole lot (1/4 cup for me).
  8. When the scabs fall off is what my surgeon said.

    Must.Stop.Weighing.Myself.

I do the same as Delta girl. I weigh myself every morning but only track Sundays. Even though it seems tje scale doesn't move, my Sunday weight is always lower than the previous week.

I ate a chocolate chip cookie last night. A big one. 170 calories big! The biggest thing we have to worry about is slipping back into old habits. Just like when a smoker quits smoking and has just one cigarette and eventually becomes a smoker again!

    wine at 6 weeks anyone?

I tried again last night and I'm 6 weeks out. It feels really weird to me like a burning tingling sensation through my whole mid section. I was only able to drink half a glass before feeling tipsy. Weird!

    wine at 6 weeks anyone?

I had a glass 2 weeks out (Thanksgiving ) it didn't feel good at all!
  13. Mine did the same thing 3 weeks out. I watched for infection, kept it clean, and only cover it when I'm at work since I'm a hairstylist. Do not put any ointment or cream on it unless your doctor advises because it can trap in bacteria. It takes weeks to heal but it's healing from the inside out. Mine were deeper than yous and is finally starting to close 6 wks out.

    Ate too much

I did today too! I ate two meatballs and half a zucchini muffin. I feel hot and dizzy and I'm at work!
  15. It's hard at first but gets easier. Your introducing food back into your stomach. I wouldn't go back to all liquids because your stomach won't get used to real food.
  16. I haven't had any issues either and I'm thankful!

    Beyond Discouraged :(

I was feeling really bummed with my slow weight loss too. I talked to my friend who had the surgery over a year ago and she said she felt the same way until about 3 or 4 months the weight started flying off! I hope the same happens for me!
  18. I don't regret this surgery at all! I'm even glad I didn't do it sooner! My options would have been gastric bypass or the band....boo! Plus now they have figured out that the sleeve needs to be smaller than what they did 5 yrs ago. Also, with all my attempts at dieting over the years, I've learned to make good food choices. Timing was perfect!
  19. I get a feeling that my chest is going to explode! I eat what I measure out and not until I'm full. It's always enough. I never really felt full on liquids.

    Hahaha self torture

Its amazing how much food is on tv!!! I didn't notice until I was sleeved!
  21. I like game nights too! If you have a Wii you could play Wii sports or fit
  22. Instead of buying food go bowling, walk, put put golf, ride bikes, hit the trails, join a gym, go to the mall. You don't have to have a vigorous work out just get your body moving especially since you have a desk job!

I don't know how to feel.....

Don't over analyze what people say. He's just being supportive! Be thankful that he's just as excited as you are. My husband has seen how miserable I was and says the same thing. We get excited together daydreaming of the time I will actually be a normal weight and have the energy to do all the things we want to do!

I Need A Recipe For Chicken Salad

I like mine simple.... A can of chicken 3 eggs Mayo Greek seasoning Pepper I add Franks hot sauce. It's more like chicken egg salad. So delish!
  25. DONT DO IT!!!!! It's impossible to lose weight on it (before surgery experience). And I was so moody plus absolutely no sex drive. I have the paragard IUD that has no hormones and it can last up to 10 yrs.
