First of all, you're gorgeous and congrats on the weight loss! I too went from a 24 to a loose 18/tight 16. I bought jeans at old navy when they had a sale and have been wearing more dresses. Dresses seem to last longer as you lose weight, they still look ok. I haven't hit up goodwill yet but will. Go shopping and get a few things that make you feel amazing! I love shopping now because clothes fit so much better now!

Who has been more supportive - your fat friends or your skinny friends?
Nicolanz replied to bonita19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All of my friends are supportive. But with acquantances and clients, it's the bigger ones that are more supportive. The thinner ones look at me like I'm crazy lol. I've stopped telling everyone for that reason. -

I created these tonight and they were so good! 3 poblano peppers 1 onion diced 3 garlic cloves diced 1 can of diced green chilies 1/2 cup chopped cilantro 1 can of mexicorn drained 1 pound of skinless boneless chicken thighs 1/2 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt 1 cup of Monterrey Jack cheese Cumin Coriander Pepper Oregano Salt Blanche peppers for 3 minutes, let cool and cut in half. Spray baking dish with cooking spray and line up the peppers skin down. Cook chicken in frying pan season with cumin, coriander, pepper. Let cool Sautee onion, garlic in olive oil until translucent. Add green chilies, cilantro, all the spices to your taste, and corn and heat through. Shred the chicken and add to the mixture. Stir in yogurt until the mixture is nice and creamy Stuff peppers, top with cheese and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. 6 servings 276 calories, 14 g fat, 13 carbs, and 23g fat Of course you could make it lower in calories if you use chicken breast and low fat cheese.

6 months out and not losing!
Nicolanz replied to Jrussell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're only done if you want to be. These last 20 pounds will probably be really hard to lose but you can do it! Congrats on your success so far! That's awesome! -
I use it for rice and mashed potatoes. For mashed potatoes I put garlic powder and low cal chive cream cheese and mash it with a fork. It's really good!

I cried everyday! Haha jk but it was tough preop. You just get through it and remember why you're doing it. Soon it will be a distant memory.

Yes because muscle is more compact or dense. It weighs more per square inch or whatever unit of measurement used.

I was hoping there'd be some Italians with an authentic recipe from grandma or something! The Lipton soup thing does sound good too. I will try that too!

One year ago today my life changed!
Nicolanz replied to desert19's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is so frustrating! I have absolutely no desire to even step on the scale anymore! Haha. But I've lost 54 pounds in 4 months so I'm not complaining. I just need to step it up a notch! -

How far out are you? I love kale but it's still a little too hard for me to digest. -

That's awesome! Thanks for posting this. I'm four months out and haven't lost anything in over a month. Sometimes I wonder if this will fail too. I especially like how you said to have goals. I'm going to start that and get my butt in gear! Congrats on your success and I can't wait to be where you are. -
The meatballs I made were delish! I sauteed 1 onion and 3 garlic cloves chopped with chopped fresh parsley, added 1/4 cup of cooking sherry and let that reduce then cool Put the mixture in one pound of ground beef with one egg, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, pepper, and thyme I put two pieces of whole wheat bread in the food processor and added that to the meat and mixed it all together. Made them into balls and baked at 375 for 15 minutes.
-
I didn't know they had different kinds!!! The ones I used to eat were like 300 calories for 3 small meatballs and somewhere around 20 g of fat lol. I'm wingin it with the meatballs! Wish me luck!

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
Nicolanz replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will never understand why people are so concerned with who other people are telling about this surgery. I mean, who gives a hoot? If you want to tell people, great! If you don't, who cares?!? Why are they being called a liar? If you had surgery to fix your hemorrhoids, would you tell everyone? Good for you! -
Only twice have I wished I could eat more. First time was a salad from Jason's deli and second was BBQ from the salt lick. But it wasn't the end of the world. I've never regretted the surgery.

Lol at sending hate mail. People really get that worked up? I think some people just take this way too seriously. If someone disagrees about the smallest thing or make a suggestion the poster doesn't want to hear, they get all bent out of shape. It doesn't bother me and I won't be run off because of it.

Anyone having problems telling others?
Nicolanz replied to TTL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a huge family and I will see all of them this weekend at my brother's wedding. I'm nervous my surgery will be the topic of discussion. They are all fit and never had weight problems. Word spreads fast in my family and I hope they are all supportive. I'll let you know how it goes! -
I got my sleeve done in MX so didn't know if we needed it short term or long term. I guess I will start them again.
-
Does everyone with the sleeve have to take iron?
