I knew I should have inquired about actigal! *cries*

I just had a granola bar this morning and I feel ok now. But you've been having these symptoms for a while, right? And May 3rd, I'll be 6 months out.
-
Does that sound like your symptoms, Aussie?

First I thought I ate something bad. About 30 minutes after I ate there was a sharp pain under my ribs. I layed down and it made it so much worse. The pain radiated from under my ribs to chest. No matter how I moved it hurt. When the pain started subsiding I could feel that it originated on the right side under my ribs.

My poor husband can't gain weight if his life depended on it! The only time he had little success is when he lifts weights, drinks protein shakes, eats lots of peanut butter, tuna- lots of protein and high calorie foods. He never has been overweight though, so I think there will be a fine line for your husband to gain a few pounds and going back to old habits. Maybe strength training will help him bulk up.

I read the post about the lady gaining 50 pounds to my husband. He said, "what, was she drinking gravy through a straw?" Bahaha!

I wonder if your sleeve stretches from everyday swallowing. Or metabolic processes where the byproduct is gas. .....must sit still and hold my breath for minimal stretchage!

The beloved "Food Funeral".
Nicolanz replied to LipstickLady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think that's amazing, Lipstick! I wish I would have done that as well. I are so much before my pre op diet, I was completely miserable! I ate crap that I didn't even eat before and gained 10 pounds. Taking control now is great! You may have obsessed over your food funeral before but you stopped it! That's admirable. If I had done that, I'd be at least 10 pounds lighter right now. You are one step closer to ridding yourself of bad habits than I was before surgery. I'm sure you'll have difficult days. We all do,but nothing in what you've posted indicates the need for professional help. Good luck with the pre op and surgery! -
Having you been looking at things differently since being sleeved?

Honestly, I never notice or care how other people eat. -

They have flatbread don't they? -
It helps me too. If I drink straight from a cup, I get a pain in my chest followed by a big ol burp!
-
And I'd like to know the science behind drinking from a straw causing your stomach to stretch. I just can't see any correlation between the two.
-
I only drink from a straw. Never quit. Oh lord, I wasn't prepared for this surgery!!!!!!!! Anyway, I've never had a problem.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! It usually makes 4 meals for me and I don't get sauce. I've only had it twice since surgery.

I agree, what a nightmare! How are you doing now? I'm so sorry this happened to you! Thank goodness you're alive to tell your story. -
If I'm going to eat fast food, I get chipotle burrito bowl with no rice.
-
That's interesting. I'm reaching 6 months out and haven't had any problems yet. This is scary! I hope it subsides soon! Is it certain foods or everything makes you sick?
-
You may need new shoes. I had the same problem from walking/jogging. I went to a store called Fleet Feet and the sized me and watched me walk to tell me exactly what I need. I haven't had a shin splint or ankle problems since.
-
Aussie, have you felt bad since surgery or is this a new occurrence? I'm sorry you feel bad and hope it gets better soon!

side-eyeing my scale today... 18lbs in one week?
Nicolanz replied to makemyownluck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You betta believe it, sista! Congratulations! -
Maybe if you go up to thousand cal. A day it won't feel like a diet. Maybe you need to look at this differently. What's worked for me is I don't deprive myself of anything and only eat in a way I can maintain forever. That way I don't go crazy when I allow myself to splurge. For instance, tonight I had pizza for dinner. Instead of ordering it I made it. I didn't use anything low fat or low calorie....I used real ingredients and was able to control how much cheese, sausage, etc I used. Some may disagree with my way but its working for me and I know I can eat this way always.

50 pounds in 3 months? !?! ....3 months? What were you expecting? That's an insane amount of weight in such little time!
