Also I'm 6 months out down 76 pounds. I eat chocolate once a week. Don't look at it as cheating, just living normally! -

Drinking too much used to cause a horrible pain in my chest. Now I'm 6 months out and can drink like I did before surgery.

I met my husband on MySpace! Good luck! That'd be awesome to find someone who has gone through this journey too.

Fried rice and curry. Big mistake
Nicolanz replied to strouc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Fried anything makes me sick. Rice sits very heavy in the sleeve. I would avoid it for now. I'm six months out now and can only eat a couple of spoonfuls of rice. Also if it was a creamy cyrry that's also very heavy, but I think Chinese curry is liquidy, right? -
I had hair loss at about 3 months but I think eating lots of protein, taking vitamins, and nioxin has helped it grow at the same rate it's falling out. Now I'm 6 months out and my shedding is normal. I have a client who had the lapband and her thick hair got really thin. It took about a year but its thick as ever now.
-
I think hormones cause the sleeve to relax. I'm not sure but it makes sense to me haha!

Wow!!!! That is really harsh. Before surgery, I worked out everyday with minimal weight loss. I've lost 50 pounds 3 times only to gain it back. I have 2 small children, work, going to school to be a nurse, and take care of our home. I think its safe to say I'm far from lazy or pathetic! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this but please don't believe that crap! I thought about you today. Wondering a) where have you been? And have you set a date yet?
-
Congratulations! I'm 6 months out too. At 3 months my hair fell out more than usual but never got thin. I eat lots of protein, take a multivitamin, and use Nioxin shampoo. My hair falls out a normal rate now. Hopefully, I'm safe! I've lost 75 pounds!

When can we drink soda
Nicolanz replied to amielou26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's cool, Serendipity. I wasn't trying to start an argument. I've heard the same information from several sources, that was just a quick find that repeated everything I've heard about diet cola specifically. Like I said someone may not know that and have an addiction to it. They may think twice about having another one. Thanks for posting the link! -

When can we drink soda
Nicolanz replied to amielou26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People are just putting information out there that maybe someone isn't aware of. No need to get defensive about the facts. Chemicals un crystal light and sf jello doesn't change anything about diet soda which is what this particular thread is about. I'm on my phone so I can't copy the link but for anyone interested, if you Google, "is diet soda better for you" there's a good article by Mark Hyman in the huffington post. I'm not shaking my finger at anyone who wants to drink it, just relaying what I've heard about the subject. -
Well, 2 outta 3 ain't bad! I haven't tracked in a week. I feel normal! I don't obsess anymore but I do still weight my protein ( I pretty much have nutritional values memorized) to make sure I'm getting enough. I think for most, tracking is important!!! But for now, I'm not going to.

I started getting nauseous about 4 months ago. I also got an iud around the same time so I thought that was the cause. Maybe it's due to the h. Pylori! I think I've had it for about 4 months. Thank goodness for the gallbladder attack or I may have not found it until something horrible happened!
