I tried Popeye's and I was sooo sick. I say make your own with crushed corn flakes as the breading and bake it. -
What is Being Morbidly Obese Protecting You From?
Nicolanz replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I struggle with this reasoning because I don't see where I fit in. I've been overweight since I was 3. I've had a wonderful life, parents are still married, no abuse and no hard times. Why did I get to 300 pounds??!?! My brothers and mother are obese too. For me, I think it's due to the habits I've formed and had my entire life. It's hard to change now but I'm not giving up! A lot of people may be overweight due to trauma but I don't think that's the reason for everyone. Thanks for posting! -

Congratulations Hoosier! I gained 3 pounds but that's ok, I'm not going to give up! And I'm not going to step on that scale for a while, just measure. I haven't really worked out since I was sleeved 6 months ago and I've got major flab going on! -
what post opt diet to follow?
Nicolanz replied to ssarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did 4 days of clear liquids, 10 of full liquids, 2 weeks of pureed and two weeks soft foods. -
I was healthy but doomed to not be! I've never been skinny or even just overweight! Always obese. My main motivator was/is to look good darn it! I would never call anyone else's reasoning to be BS, but I do want to be skinny! If I feel good about myself, I will be mentally healthy as well as physically.

how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
Nicolanz replied to leeann71's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I don't think an online calculator can accurately tell you how many calories you need to lose weight. Through trial and error, 1000-1200 calories a day makes me lose. Now that I'm working out, I will have to play around with calories again to find my number. I'm going to really try to eat every 3 hrs. It's really hard to stop and eat during the day! I think it's a great idea though. -

I eat cereal for the fiber. I like the Kashi protein cereal, fiber one, or if you're in Texas, HEB's Great Grains is good. Along with Mootopia milk (12g of protein). It took about 5 1/2 months to be able to tolerate it.

November 2012 sleevers- 6 months out. How are you doing?
Nicolanz replied to aquitenonnymouse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the Jillian Michaels workouts because she does circuit training and you work out two big muscles at a time. Example, squats with bicep curls. Her ripped in 30 is 3 minutes of strength training, two min cardio, and one min abs for 3 circuits. It's really hard at first but you get strong quick. -
Hey Patti! Congratulations on getting the ball rolling. I too am a food addict and still struggle everyday. The difference now is I can't eat enough for 3 people anymore! I'm still working on my issues but it gets better everyday. The best thing I've encountered up until now is having energy to live my busy life, being able to exercise without feeling I am going to die, being the smallest I've ever been as an adult, being overall happy and more outgoing, and of course all the complement I get! I don't hide anymore! There is no worst part for me except I need to get my gallbladder removed. I'll take that over being morbidly obese any day! Good luck to you and come here for support. There are some amazing people on this site!

Hello everyone and congratulations on your success! I was sleeved November 3rd and am down 76 pounds! I just started working out this week with my collection of Jillian Michaels DVDs and I feel great! It's amazing how being smaller makes exercise much easier! Not saying it's easy by any means but I am able to get through a whole workout without stopping. Today, everyone I came in contact with said something about my weight loss. It's really paying off! -
Woohoo! Can't wait to be there with you! Congratulations!

You are lucky and I'm jealous! Living in Texas, I don't get to see them much. But when I do, I could just stare at them all day! Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and California are my favorite places to visit. Hopefully one day I'll live in one of those states!

Darn it!!! I promise I'm not doing that on purpose!

I worked out today too! My whole body still hurts from my workout on Wednesday but I pushed through. While I was doing those crunches where you touch your elbow to the opposite knee, I slammed my knee not realizing how easy it is now!
