Has the sleeve not worked for you?
Nicolanz replied to tannak's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's easy to say the sleeve 100% works and if it doesn't you're not trying the first 6 months. Like Cheri said, the surgery only removes most of your stomach and only one area that produces ghrelin. Other organs produce ghrelin and other hormones cause hunger. Leptin for example,is stored in your fat cells, as your fat cells shrink, the scream, "Hey! I'm starving here!" Leptin is released and tells your brain to eat! The doesn't fix metabolic issues. So many people go into this thinking it's a permanent fix without having to try. There are many factors as to why it may not work permanently. It's forced restriction, that's it. It's doesn't magically cure all ailments. Nor does it magically take your cravings for fried chicken away. Those who truly don't feel hunger after 6 months to a year are truly blessed but I don't think it's the norm. -
Or sometimes you realize your friend is not who you thought they were and choose not to associate yourself with them anymore.

I agree with everyone, Kristina, you are great! Please don't lose any sleep over this. You've handled yourself amazingly! You are very much respected.

I consider my VSG a success but..............................................

Your hair is going to fall out regardless. But if you get all you protein, vitamins, water it might grow just as fast as it's falling out. If you wash your hair once a week, it will seem like a lot of hair is in your brush because that's 6 days worth of shedding hair. Massaging the scalp actually promotes hair growth. So I'd recommend shampooing every other day. -
If this was really all a lie, I'd like to know who the OP is. Did anyone actually see them having sex? Did these other women come forward on the forum? Or in one person's inbox? I'm so confused and honestly don't know what to think! I'm a hairstylist and am very close with my clients. I've recommended going to MX several times. Is this someone I should warn them about? Or was this just some attempt to get revenge?!?! I'm not saying this guy is innocent even of it is just flirting. It's uncomfortable and unprofessional, but this was a very serious claim. Maybe Kristina you could tell us exactly what you saw and not stories you heard from the OP?

Honestly, this whole thing is pathetic! When is it going to stop? You've already damaged this man's reputation whether rightfully so or not. And your credibility has completely gone out the window!

One thing I've noticed from cheaters is they don't take responsibility for their actions. It's always the other person's fault. "You don't do this, you're not the same, blah blah! " There are far better ways to end a relationship than straight up betrayal! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't even imagine how you feel. I hope you find peace and move on. 10 years is a long time and it will take time to heal. I can assure you that you are not broken and you will find someone who appreciates you! Focus on you now. Good luck to you!

Beware! woman traveling to TJ
Nicolanz replied to blindsided's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Either way this is someone you can't trust. I don't want anyone I can't trust operating on me, seeing me naked, having access to me while put under, administering drugs....etc! -

I'm glad that the doctor has been outted. This situation is wrong and unprofessional. If I were planning on going here, I would cancel after reading this no matter how wonderful the team is. Our lives are in these doctor's hands. If you had not consented, who knows what he is capable of. He has access to put drugs in IVs! This needs to be reported officially! I personally wouldn't be comfortable going here. Think about it, who knows how many other women there have been, he has a long term gf, he's taking advantage of patients. Who's to say later down the line he won't force these acts on someone helpless? -

12 week Transformation challenge for vets
Nicolanz replied to Fiddleman's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Climbing Enchanted Rock was still very challenging but easier than before. We did a lot more exploring this time. Climbed down in caves and climbed down the way covered in boulders rather than the smooth way. Overall, it was a success! I think for the first time my husband is a little annoyed with me being sleeved. This town is mostly for drinking wine at wineries and beer at the brewery and eating. I've thrown up from a beer and our mini fridge is full of food! Haha! This was the first time I've vomited from being sleeved. We're still having a blast! Hope everyone is having a great week! -
Just gonna go ahead and put this out there.....

I hardly have any before pics either and wish I did. The scale says I'm down 85 pounds but I don't have a visual of how far I've come. If it means anything, I think you're gorgeous! Good luck with you're surgery!! -
Hubby gets a shout out!

Hair loss post op vs. after childbirth? More, less, same?
Nicolanz replied to Miss Piggy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After my first son, I lost a ton of hair. I have super thick hair and it thinned a lot! After my second child I had the sleeve two months later so I thought I was doomed! But with the Vitamins and Protein overload, my hair is growing just as fast as it's falling out. So, yes it's falling out but not thinning. Now I just had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and I hope my hair stays thick! -
Is the year dragging or is it me?
Nicolanz replied to chibabyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt that way too. But now its already been 8 months since surgery! I can't believe it! -
Your story is exactly mine pre op. As soon as I returned from MX, he was so happy and totally supportive. He was scared I wouldn't make it but never admitted it or knew how to express himself other than with anger. I'm sure your husband will come around after it's all done.

Girl, I am in the same boat! Blessed with the butt not with a bust! It took me forever to find a swim suit! I bought it a little tight so I can get through the summer with it. Congratulations on the loss!

i am such a hypocrite!
Nicolanz replied to kchristian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I honestly don't even notice. Without paying someone to cut out most of my stomach, I couldn't stop "shoveling" food into my mouth either. Put yourself in their shoes. They haven't had surgery. We all know how hard it is to control ourselves around food. The only difference between us and them is we have forced portion control. And maybe more motivation because of all we've been through. I'm pretty good at only worrying about myself though. Live and let live! Adults are 100% responsible for their own actions. -
Brush your teeth! That always takes my desire to eat away!

That's crazy!

regreting this whole thing
Nicolanz replied to ********'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fitted clothes makes a HUGE difference! No way in hell will I wear saggy jeans. As soon as I start feeling frumpy, I go get a new pair! I'm wearing my size 14s I just bought at Walmart for $13 right now and feeling great! I don't even want to take them off ( I've been a size 20+ since I can remember!) Haha! -
