5 guys burger!-8 weeks out
Nicolanz replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Omg! I just realized how sarcastic and rude my previous post sounded! I'm so sorry. What I meant was, I've had 5 guys once and it was greasy and delicious! Haha. But early out, greasy food made me really sick. Also, ground beef in the form of a patty or meatball was a little hard on the sleeve. I'm sure you'll be able to handle beef it might just take a while. Everything is trial and error right now. At 8 months out I don't have problems with any foods. -
Hey Gojo! We all understand why you're having the surgery, we have the same reasons! Unfortunately, there's a stigma against wls and those who've never had weight issues really don't understand. Not too many people knew I was getting it done before I got it done. My husband was unsupportive and I just didn't talk to him about it. I knew this is what I had to do and he wasn't going to talk me out of it. He's 1000% supportive now. My aunt tried to spew her negativity behind my back but my dad shut her down quick! You're doing this for you and no one else! This is a great place for support and we understand what you're going through! Good luck!

I'm sure it was the incredible amount of grease that made you puke. -
Has anyone used Nioxin shampoo/cleanser/scalp therapy?

Has anyone used Nioxin shampoo/cleanser/scalp therapy?

Hit send too fast..... it does dry your hair out some so I would suggest alternaing it with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner or use a leave-in conditioner. -

It helped me. I know because it slowed my hair loss and about a week after I ran out, my hair was falling out by the handfuls again! -
Question about how to save the "girls" once weight loss starts.
Nicolanz replied to adargie's topic in The Gals' Room
Plastic surgery is probably your only option. Unfortunately, your breasts are just made up of adipose tissue (fat). If you're going to lose there, you're going to lose there. -
I always look at them but too scared to try them. I've only tried one protein bar a long time ago and it eas horrible! Which ones do you suggest?

The goal weight number

Marilyn was a size 16! I'm a 14/16 and I still look obese! But you know Deborah from the show Dexter? I never want to look like that! I wouldn't mind having a body like Khloe (sp?) Kardashian. Lol! In other words I still want a womanly figure and not the body of a 12 year old boy! -

The goal weight number
Nicolanz replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'9 and naturally muscular. I wasn't told a goal weight, but roght now I'm shooting for 165. I honestly have no idea what to shoot for. I've never been normal or even overweight. Right now I'm just trying to get under 200! 6 more pounds to go! -
Here's what I did- I used the elliptical. It's easy on my knees. My first goal would be 10 minutes, then I'd walk at a slow/moderate pace on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Then my next goal was 15 minutes on elliptical and 15 on treadmill. 20 minutes on elliptical/10 on treadmill Then 30 on elliptical/15 on treadmill Then eventually made it to 45 on elliptical and a 5 minute slow walk on the treadmill to cool down. Then I eventually got up the courage to do the classes. Good luck!

You can try ketchup. I couldn't handle eggs until about 4 weeks post op so be careful! Try adding a little bit of water before you cook them. Good luck!

if I read about another stall Imma pull my hair out!
Nicolanz replied to allthatjazz4u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What's a stall? I say if you haven't lost an ounce in over a month, you need to change it up. But 4 fays? A week? It's totally normal and expected not to lose everyday! Sometimes there's like 6 stall threads in one day all with the same responses lol. -
I have GOOD news to be focusing on....

I feel you on than, Laura! I've lost 50+ pounds 4 times in my life and I'm only 29! You know what sabotaged my weightloss everytime? VACATION!!!! I was never able to get back on the wagon!

I am using it properly, thanks! Down 90 pounds in 8 months! I got the sleeve to start over like all of us did and I reseached for a year prior to being sleeved. Several resources stated you will not feel hungry because the ghrelin hormone is removed. Well, being a since I'm studying science I'm aware the pancreas also makes ghrelin and other hormones contribute to hunger. Marfar I think it was- I can eat more but really not much more. I can eat 3 oz of Protein and a few bites of veggies in one sitting. Before surgery I could eat a 6 oz salmon, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and still be hungry! Yes you'll be able to eat more down the road but nowhere near pre surgery. A normal stomach can hold approximately 5 liters! Your sleeve will never do that. As far as being hungry. I get hungry. Real hunger. Nowhere near as hungry as I used to be, but normal hunger. When I haven't eaten in about 4-5 hours, I get hungry. I eat my 4-6 oz of food and I'm full. You will be fine but don't 100% rely on the sleeve! You know what to do! You got this!

Can you envision yourself at goal?
Nicolanz replied to No game's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dad asked me the other day if I feel different. I do but I don't. I see myself smaller but not 90 pounds smaller. I have 40 pounds to goal. 6 more until I'm under 200. I'm 5'9. I've never been this small as an adult. I can't envision myself at goal at all. I can't even see me now! It's so weird. 6 more pounds and I will be considered overweight not obese. I still feel super obese even when I look at pictures of myself. I really hope I don't see myself like this when I'm at a normal weight! -
Wow! She's a trooper!
