    How Long To Take Eating?

Veg- how do you over eat? Because you eat too fast? I have a real hard time rating slow and more often than not feel it in my esophagus - but why do we need to eat do slowly?

    Thanksgiving Day Challenge

I'm in! Sleeved on 9/25 - Starting weight 306 Surgery day weight - 287 Current weight - 267 Would like to be 255 by thanksgiving. I seem to be a slower loser and have already had a stall so I think 12 lbs. is doable

Hi - I was sleeved on September 25- down 18 lbs and have been stalled for two weeks. Hoping that changes soon!
  7. Hi lissa - I just started on solids this week so gradually adding things in. I try to get between 40 and 60 ounces of water in - the protein has been a challenge . Today I did better than normal - 58 grams of protein in but some of that came from isopure. I've also been stalled for almost 2 weeks but also had a kidney stone last week and now a kidney infection which may be part of it. I hope anyway- hard not to think that this is just another diet gone bad!
  8. I was sleeved on 9/25 and still having a problem getting all the food in. I usually get in between 40 and 60 grams of water. But question- I hate protein shakes but I o like the isopure - is that as good as a shake? I think the shakes would fill you up more but I always feel like the 40 grams of protein in isopure is not the same as in a shake.

    Feel Like I'm A Failure

Thanks for all the great advice! I just got home from the emergency room yet again. Pain wasn't as bad as Monday but bad enough to send me back. But after a few hours the pain stopped and they did another cat scan and the stone finally moved to the bladder! Yay! But now have a kidney infection - but that's much better than a stone. I wonder if the apple cider vinegar if taken daily would work as a preventative ?

    Feel Like I'm A Failure

Really?!! I did not know that about the stone! That makes me feel better as far as gaining the weight! I keep trying to get the water in to get it to pass but so far nothing. It makes sense though - I gained 10 lbs the day before the stone hit. And my input doesn't match my output! Thank you! I feel better!

    Feel Like I'm A Failure

My protein has gone down but liquid has gone up trying to pass the stone! The scale is stuck. My doctor told me today to work on the liquids right now and forget the food for now. Just try and pass the stone. Yeah! At 600 calories I would hope you'd lose weight -

    Feel Like I'm A Failure

Hmm - I was sleeved on 9/25 - and have only lost 14 lbs. I started at 287 and got down to 264 and then gained 10 back overnight and have yet to lose it. I ended up with a kidney stone and don't know if that had nothing to with it but I was so excited because I thought Yes! This will work for me and now I'm afraid it's just lie every oter diet where my body wins because I don't lose.

    Alcohol?

Well I like - okay love - jack Daniels and water. I'm looking very forward to be able to have one. I'm thinking I'll star off with white wine at Christmas ( was sleeved 9/25) - and then maybe at 6 mos will try the jack. I fogey who on this thread said it but agree that I wanted the sleeve to be able to eat and drink in moderation. I didn't do it to deny myself of everything I enjoy as that's why I could never stick to a diet!

    Gums..

Wow- I thought I was the only one that had gum problems after the surgery. I was sleeved on 9/25 and Since my gums have been bleeding bad and last week were so swollen and hurt so much it was hard to brush. I've been rinsing with salt water and it seemed to help.

    Regrets

I completely understand what your feeling! I was sleeved on 9/25 and since then I have been under an enormous amount of stress from family. It's been crushing and constant and at times I thoroughly regret my decision of having surgery because all I want is a nice comfy meal and a jack Daniels and water. I know I can't. I try and remember at those times why I did this and go weigh myself. I also will go through weight loss surgery cookbooks and read about the good food I'll be able to have down the road. I'll be happy when the family stress lifts and I can just focus on me but in the meantime I am at least grateful that my desire for food is head hunger and knowing that at some point I'll be able to eat what I want and my new stomach will keep me nfrom eating lot of it. I remind myself that it's quality - not quantity!
  17. Hi- this is probably a strange question but I was sleeved on 9/25 and this past week my gums are swollen and bleeding. I find it odd since I'm not even chewing on anything! It's all liquid! Has anyone else had this problem? I was hoping to lose weight with the sleeve - not my teeth! Thanks Lauren
  18. I was sleeved on 9/25 and am down 19 lbs which includes 8 lbs. pre op.
