You are inspiring. My commitment date was May 3, 2007 with my surgery being on Sept. 5, 2007. Since May 3rd I have lost 93 pounds but I've stayed same for about 3 months now. My eating habits got off track and also my exercise routine. Got up this morning and started on the treadmill again - gotta get back on track. Exercise is key - I know it is vital to success along with better eating choices of course. Had to chuckle to myself because my goal is 180 also for the same reason! Thanks for your posting - great job!

Would you do it again or choose another option?

I have no regrets here! I'd do this again in a heartbeat. It took me quite some time to make up my mind but I knew that I had to do something to help with my weight. I just kept adding pounds and adding pounds - each year I just inched up and up. I was taking blood pressure medicine, blood sugar medicine, depression medicine, cholesterol medicine every day. I am no longer taking any meds (other than my Flintstones) - Hoo Rah. I feel good and I just take it a day at a time. I'm wearing clothes I haven't gotten into in years. It feels good. I can only imagine being at goal weight, but if I just keep plugging away 8-10 pounds a month, I'll eventually get there. Afterall, it took me a long time to get in this condition - so I can only expect it to take several months to take it off. -
Hello! I just did get my first fill (12-18). I have lost 40 pounds since surgery date and probably could have gotten by without a fill but I was starting to eat more without feeling full and I didn't want to get carried away during the holidays. I've had trouble eating several times since then but then again = it's all about restriction, right? I thought I was restricted before but now I know what it means to be restricted. I'm schedule to go back to the doctor January 24th but don't believe I'll get another fill for a while!

Hello - wanted to add myself to the September bandsters list. I had my surgery on 09-05-07 and have no regrets! I've had some frustrating moments but again - no regrets. I had to do something and this has been the answer for me.

Best Wishes to you! You'll do fine - just mind the rules and it'll be smooth sailing. I had surgery at 8 a.m. came home around 2 p.m. (1.5 hr. drive home - stopped half way home to walk around). I walked 3-4 times that afternoon and evening and the next several days. They say keep walking - it helps with the healing process and keeps you from getting sore. I got along pretty good. Again - best of luck to you. Today is my first postings here but I find it is helpful to see how others are doing and I wanted to offer my support. -

Kelly - Best of Luck on Wednesday! I'm a 45 yr. old mother of 3 sons who weighed 373 on May 3, 2007. I am a career woman and was having health issues and could hardly get around without being in pain - mostly my feet and back. I do inspections at work which requires walking quite a bit some days. It was getting difficult for me, I was breathing hard. Since making the commitment to have the lapband surgery on May 3rd, I have lost 75 pounds and feel so much better. I'm off all my meds and walking 30 minutes a day on my treadmill. Again - best of luck to you! No regrets here! -
new here and glad to find you!

What an inspiration! I have lost 75 pounds since May 3, 2007 and was banded Sept. 05, 2007. I weighed 373 when I turned my packet in on May 3rd - today I'm at 295. I have a long way to go but I figure every pound behind me is one less to go! I had my first fill Dec. 18th and that's going O.K. - pretty tight I think, but that's part of it I guess.
