How Long Til You Got To 600-800 Calories/day?
cdbloo01 replied to cmf1267's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't worry about the calories. I was told to concentrate on protein (70 grams per day), carbs (less than 90 per day), and water (64 oz). -
When Did You Advance To Mushy Foods?
cdbloo01 replied to Boofster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine diet is: 2 days clear liquids 2 weeks full liquids 2 weeks soft/puréed foods -
They told me the same about the steri strips but they had blood caked behind them and looked dirty to me so I took them off after 9 days and put a clean bandaid on the largest. The others looks ok.

Did anyone's doc tell them how long it takes for their incision and staples to scar over on their new pouch?

My dietician said never again because the carbonation can stretch your stomach.

Just curious about everyone's post-op diet. What were your stages and how long were you on each?

Six Days Post-Op, And I Am Hungry!
cdbloo01 replied to timetobefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so glad to read this because I'm 5 days post-op and stay hungry too. I'm trying my best to drink, drink, drink, but it's hard. I was afraid something was not right because I have had such an easy time and because I am hungry. -
Updates By Nov. 2012 Sleevers
cdbloo01 replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on November 12th. I am doing really well. I have lost almost 3 lbs. The soreness is almost gone. I have only taken pain medication once since I left the hospital and that was because the gas they pumped in me, caused my back to hurt and I wanted to be able to sleep the night I came home. I sleep on my side. I can't wait to get back to my stomach, because I'm a stomach sleeper. I am still careful when I move because I don't want to rip my incisions back open or hurt myself on the inside. I am on a liquid diet right now. I haven't been nauseated. I've been able to tolerate all of the liquids I've tried. My appetite is diminished, but I am craving regular foods. I cannot wait to chew food again. I am so ready to get back to my regular low-carb diet. I am surprised at how well I have done. -

I understand how you feel. I've almost deleted my account a couple times because of negative comments people are making towards each other. I don't because I have found some positive support and information on here. There are also times I don't say what I want or express my feelings because I have no desire to read people's negative comments. We don't need the negative. We know what our issues are and how we got to where we are at. We need the positive and encouragement. -

Headed Home And Nervous
cdbloo01 replied to mdonaldf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said to drink a medicine cup full of water every 15 minutes. -
Sleeve complete. Waiting to go home. It's tough but doable. I feel much, much better today than I did the first two days. Everyone says day 3 is the turn around and it was for me.

I didn't get one either. Another doctor preference I guess.
