  1. I'll recommend to anyone that hates chewables like I do, Celebrate now has a vitamin capsule. 3-4 a day. Whereas Bariatric Advantage's capsule is 6-9 capsules a day. I've had my bloodwork checked since I've been on the capsules and everything's good. So if you're over chewing, gives those a shot
  2. I'm very hesitant when it comes to liquid medicines. My second phrase a toddler was "yuck yuck double yuck" when it came to liquid meds. My mom caught me swallowing chewable Tylenol when I was 2. But I'd like to look more into these. At least the calcium and iron. What flavors do they offer in iron and the multivitamin?
  3. Rule of thumb: take it easy and do it when you're ready. Just don't push yourself. Foreplay is easier and helps with the drought feeling

    New to gastric sleeve

You're right on track. I'm about 10 months out and have only lost 55ish pounds and still follow my diet religiously. You'll get there. Patience is key.

Pain in jaw and upper back

Yikes! I schedule an appt with my surgeon ASAP. The way the ER dismissed you is absurd!

    Ever miss eating?

My fiancé volunteered to go on the liquid diet with me. I was sooooo grateful for that

    Ever miss eating?

There are absolutely times when I miss eating, especially at first. When I couldn't eat more than 4 (veggie) chicken nuggets, or just a couple bites of anything. Boy do I miss those days It gets easier. Now I see people eating half a pizza or something and get a little nauseas just thinking "I used to eat like that?!" And a liquid diet will make anyone miss food! You'll be fine

    Miss my advil!

I should clarify, all surgeons have different rules. Most say no to NSAIDs for all types of Bariatric surgeries due to the risk of ulcers. Same as smoking. Every doctor is different, and ultimately it's your decision. We're adults, we get to do cool stuff like that I know the risks of Advil, ibuprofen, etc. I used to take 4 ibuprofen at least 5 times a week. (Fibro, arthritis, chronic tendonitis, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, and cramps when it's that time.) I'm now on heavy narcotics because of the no NSAID thing. But since surgery (10 months ago) I've taken 2 ibuprofen a handful of times when nothing else works. Like I said, we're grown ups. We know the risks and its our choice

    Miss my advil!

I miss my NSAIDs something fierce! But they're a big no no because of the bleeding ulcer risk. If our sleeve gets an ulcer we're screwed not much to work with at all. But man once a month I seriously weigh the pros and cons lol As far as pain goes, ice and heat therapy.
  11. Actually, the added tension on your hair will cause breakage and increase hair loss. :/

    Pepto

If you mean pepto bismol, absolutely. My surgeon starts all patients on Tums, Pepto, Prilosec right out surgery.

    pureed

It's the shell on the corn. Early on small seeds, shells, etc can get stuck in between your sutures, get infected/abscess, and cause a leak.
  14. Yes, sadly, some people are very childish...better known as trolls. My mom had the DS as a single procedure so I'm well versed in that as well as the sleeve. Feel free to pm me if you have anymore questions
  15. I fractured my ankle and foot last night, but they put me in a standard size wheelchair instead of the super wide ones and I fit! With room to spare!
  16. A little time is worth it! The switch is an even bigger lifestyle change! I say go with your gut mine led me to WLS in the first place lol
  17. Faulty staple= leak. Was in the hospital for a month. Became a MRSA carrier/colonizer while in there, permanent lung damage from the abscess, was on 1mg morphine every 6 minutes for 4 weeks and was sent home cold turkey and to find my fibromyalgia medication was no longer effective because my tolerance had spiked, had a small blood clot, almost died, etc. and I did everything by the book, as did my surgeon. Just the chance we all take.
  18. Word of warning to my WLS patient friends: I've never had dumping with my sleeve. Ever. Until today. I had a glucose tolerance test which is as follows: -A 12 hours fast (including no water) -1 vial of fasting blood -Drink 12-16oz of sugar Water (tastes awful) in 3 minutes or less. (Ouch and oh the burping) -1 vial of post glucose blood one hour after ingesting -1 vial an hour for minimum of 3-5 hours. (No leaving the office, no sleeping, no water, no excessive movement, etc) For the normal stomach this is bad enough, but to ingest 100+ grams of liquid sugar on a completely empty stomach that will flow right through the pyloric valve into your intestines is the perfect set up for dumping syndrome. I'll say this, I managed to not vomit but every other symptom was there. The liquid stools, hot flash, abdominal cramping, chest pains, sweating, lightheadedness, dizziness, heart racing, nausea, etc. Be warned, if you need this test, be prepared for a couple hours of misery. I'm finally home and feel pretty much back to normal aside from some frequent bathroom trips and extreme fatigue. I'm just glad it's over! Word of warning!! And best of luck if you need this done! I brought my laptop and watched a movie and some TV shows I had saved. I also brought an extra hoodie to keep my arms warm as I have tricky veins anyway.

    Glucose Tolerance Test

If you're a WLS patient it's something you MUST research! It's awful!
  20. I just switched from my flinstones complete to the celebrate capsule. Hurray for one less thing to chew! I use Bariatric advantage iron and b12, I take a generic calcium supplement. So far so good just had bloodwork done last week and everything's A-OK
