Looking For A Friend/mentor In Kentucky

It was ok until I got to the last 2 weeks waiting for my last nut appointment. That took FOREVER and so is waiting to hear from my insurance company.

    Chewable Vitamins?

Another random thought- dont take iron and calcium citrate together. They just cancel each other out. Take them at different times

    Chewable Vitamins?

For me it's chewable forever or until I can tolerate capsules. The tablets don't break up well in our stomach, gummies aren't "complete" Vitamins, and B12 are usually sublingual. The big catch with the capsules I've found is quantity. 6 capsules in a serving and my nut requires 2 Vitamin servings a say. 12 freaking capsules. Yeesh. I'll probably alternate 6 caps, and 1 chewable a day as I can't STAND the taste of chewables. They DO make sf vitamins, you just have to look harder. The soft chews can be super high in sugar. You can email if you want, I just got a list of ok vitamins from my nut yesterday. Good luck!

Looking For A Friend/mentor In Kentucky

I just moved back to southern Indiana from Shelbyville
  6. Don't mix your meds with dairy. Dairy increases mucous production and the drainage will hurt your stomach and throat more. Avoid dairy! I get strep you could set a clock by. As for an antibiotic shot. I've will help your internal swelling, a hot rag or heating pad will help ease the tension in your muscles around your throat. Try your best to get your pain meds down. Pinch your nose and swallow. Keep it pinched until you've swallowed several times to get the taste out of your mouth Good luck!

Had my last pre op NUT appointment today!! It's all in the hands of the insurance now. *gulp*
  8. Being sleeved yet or not has nothing to do with common sense and reality.
  9. All of you that are setting outlandish goals of unrealistic dieting and exercise are increasing your chances of failure. That's considered crash dieting, and the objective of any WLS is to put a stop to that, not use your new stomach to aid in it. You're not paving a realistic path for your future.

    Protien Jello

Really?? I haven't seen it in their product catelog. What's it called? Everything's got a weird name I'm interested! Seems like a post op must have

    Oatmeal

Will somebody explain to me the difference between steel cut and rolled oats?

    Protien Jello

I love this idea! I hate Jello, and the thought of eating it makes me sick. But if I have a reason to eat it (protein) I can choke it down
  14. I've had to swamp myself with school work, music, sleep, ANYTHING to distract me. I don't even have a date yet but I'm obsessed with my surgery. It's become my life in the last few weeks.
  15. HAAAAAA!!!!!!! That made me literally lol and I never do that! Amazing.

    Help!

I would insist for a leak test and that they keep you long enough to get your pain under control. Or send you home with something to keep the pain tolerable. Dont settle for less!

    Quitting Smoking..

Tomorrow will be my 2 week smoke free mark and it was surprisingly easy. I had made up my mind to quit, told my fiancé that the 2 in my pack were the last I'd have and he said "you can say that later because I just bought you a pack.". I quit cold turkey and it was so much easier than anything else. I avoided driving since that's when I smoked the most but it's fine now. I get the occasional random craving. Not to smoke but have something in my mouth. I drink water or chew ice, maybe a piece of SF gum if it doesn't fade after a minute or so. It's really not that hard. I finished my last smoke, febreezed EVERYTHING, and packed up my ashtrays and lighters immediately. You can do it!! Days 3 and 7 are the worst. After that, it's gravy

    What Scar?!

I don't think it was reconstructive. I think OP's talking about his sleeve scar.
  19. I know after my friend had a c-section, they told her she'd get better muscle use and healing if she laid flat to sleep when she got home instead of propped up or in a recliner. I understand it, but wanted to know how you slept the first few days home? Recliner? Propped? Sitting up? I have a concern with sitting up on my own to get up for my drink, bathroom, etc. Thanks! Liz
  20. I would make a fuss about fluids.
  21. Has anyone had luck with probiotics? I'm wondering if I should start them before surgery and right after to help alleviate the "liquid in liquid out" phase.
  22. There are tests they can do that aren't exploratory surgery.... And why on EARTH did they sop your fluids?!

    Stomach

Mine HAS to be! They say it can be 2 liters when full? I think that's how big mine is when it's empty!
