    BLOCKED!

    How much of the bickering would be fixed with a block feature? Just curious if I'm the only one that thinks it would be VERY helpful and save the mods some time. Just a thought

    Going no 2 and mucous

    A change in smell is common after surgery. The food doesn't spend as long in our stomach so the color and odor are different than what we're used to. I know (TMI!!) mine smelled like baby poo until I'd been on solids for awhile and every now and then it still reminds of that. If the smell bothers you they make stuff you put in the toilet (a couple of drops before you go) and its supposed to block the smell. Just a Drop is one, Poopourri is another. I haven't tried them since my smell kinda stopped and I stay at home but my mother uses it at work and says it works fine
  3. OP, I'd go for the snack wrap or a grilled chicken sandwich with the bun. It all depends on how much you're eating but as several have mentioned don't try anything on a field trip you haven't tried at home first (like lettuce) dumping on a field trip would be a nightmare! Good luck! Have fun! And tell us what you picked EDIT: I meant WITHOUT the bun! Eeek, sorry

    BMI=obese/no comorbities

    I can speak for the CPAP only via my mother. She had to wear it months before surgery, even DURING her recovery immediately out of surgery, and still is wearing at night after surgery but her sleep apnea is getting much better.

    Going no 2 and mucous

    Sorry, three weeks. I had those issues until I started solids. But if you're very concerned, a call to the dr never hurt good luck!

    Going no 2 and mucous

    After just two weeks I think that's still normal. Fluid in fluid out
  8. Food isn't a problem so far. Unfortunately I tolerate bread and rice fine, I was hoping I wouldn't. I haven't come close to dumping, feeling choked, or sliming. But I cannot keep ground beef down for anything. That's fine with me, I hardly ate it pre op anyway Its very hard to eat, not physically, but mentally. NOTHING sounds good and everything smells so bad since surgery! I keep telling my fiancé I need nose plugs but he doesn't think I'm serious lol I've been stalled for a few weeks and while it's frustrating, I don't really care right now. I'm just happy I can eat and drink again My only trouble is my energy level, but that was an issue pre op because of the Fibro, I have pain that I also had pre op. I can't really complain about how I'm doing post life threatening incident. My best friend for 20 years, however, last week was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma (stage 2 or 4, we'll know Tuesday.) But until she gets more of a routine with her chemo and radiation I'll be in charge of her 11 month old. Eeeek! You can pray for me there lol I love babies and expect to have my own but this will absolutely be a test of my strength!

    Sorry weird question but..

    I take a generic form of benefiber once a day. Even before surgery I had constipation issues, have my whole life so I'm terrified of that happening now that I'm post op. I take my fiber daily, and a chewable probiotic (it tastes awful, I need to switch brands.) I go almost daily, and the days I miss my fiber, I can tell. If you're constipated at the moment my surgeon recommends miralax or smoothe move tea. It's made from Senna, you can get it at any health food store and even WalMart in the aisle with the tea. The fiber helps me, it did take a few days to make a difference, but since then...things move fine. Good luck to you!

    Nervous is normal honey. I did have a leak and as far as complications go I'll tell you this, the risk is low but there's still a risk, and a leak is a nightmare. Here's what you do: post op, DON'T hesitate for a SECOND to call your surgeon or go to the ER if you feel something's wrong. A leak sucks, but as long as you pay attention to the signs your body gives you, you'll catch it fat enough. I had a very uncomfortable month but I'm here and alive. Just remember how small the chance is! I happen to have terrible luck lol and as long as you do what you're instructed to after surgery you should be fine. Good luck!

    Flu vs leak symptom

    I would be more concerned with recovering than catching something. Besides, ERs will provide a mask if you ask. Six months is pretty far out for a leak but it's not impossible. You need fluids and meds ASAP if you're still battling such a fever. Go to the ER or Urgent Care. Passing out is reason enough for that. Good luck, keep us posted
