I had mine a couple weeks ago and the nerves working up to it are worse than the procedure. for me they gave me an iv.. rolled me into a room.. had insert a mouthpiece (so that they could put the tube in eaasier) put me to sleep and a couple mins later it seemed I woke up laughing because I was talking like I was drunk. Felt fine right afterwards and got a day off of work for it!!

OMGGGGG!!!! I have to ask HOW did you loose so much so fast? I know since im so large and in charge that it till come off a little faster in the beginniing then say someone that is 75 lbs less than myself. But what are you doing, eating, any excersize? Share with me the goods. If i could loose that much that fast.. i would be the happiest non fat person in the world!!

I want to thank everyone for all the responces.. I am officially getting the SLEEVE! I called my drs office today to let them know. I just think I will see much better results and now im more excited than ever... Except I still have to wait another 3 months.. but OH WELL!!

As I posted in a previous post.. I was going to go for lapband but I have since changed my mind and I'm going with the sleeve option. My surgery date isn't.until January 15th but my? ? Is this. What is the eating like afterwards. I know with the band it was... chew very slow till your food.liquifies.. u can't eat a lot of certain foods bc it may get stuck.. blah blah blah. Is there certain restrictions also with the sleeve?

How long should I plan on taking off of work? Oh yeah.. how long was the hospital stay also??

I can't wait to be happy again. Something simple so that everything else can fall into place. I can't wait to be me!!

So for the last 4 months I have had my.mind set on the band but lately I question if that is right for me. The one major thing that made me decide that I wanted the band was because of the risks. I really think I would be more successful with the sleeve due to the decrease in hunger, restrictive eating and watnot. What made you decide to go with the sleeve instead of other wls? Right.now I'm 5 7 and 342 lbs. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

How is the post opt diet? With the lapband.my nurse told me the.first 2 days after it was.clear liquids... next 2 weeks.mushy then the transition into normal food. Is it the same with the sleeve?

Crystal did you have the sugery also? If so what is your weightloss. I am scheduled for lap and on January 15th but I... of course... can still choose which one I want

I am also on the band forum and a lot of people are happy with it in general.. the only complain is the slower weight loss. What about in 5 years... will the sleeve stretch and be.like your stomach prior? I have heard stories with the bypass and that... whereas the lapband in 5 years u could go for a fill and get more restriction
