Welcome back Gladster. glad everything went well
-
Kathy, I know what you mean by those pics. My Dr. viewpoint is for pre and post-op diet. I just love him. Band sis, we only have 6 days...yikes! I am nervous and excited. Let's just keep suporting each other
-
Tenille, welcome to the group. You will find we all post alot. If you skip a day you will have a lot of reading to do to catch up. This is a great group with wonderful support. We are also talking about a cruise next August to celebrate our new HOT selves. Think about it. If you are interested let us know.

:biggrin1: Laurend, if the hairdresser knows, EVERYBODY knows. I know this frustrating cause now everybody is watching you and everything you eat. Just try to ignore them, smile and when they ask "should you be eating that" say yes and keep eating. Hang in there
-
BTW, we have an ongoing thread that you should not try to read all to catch up. It is soooo long. Join us over there. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f94/lucky-sevens-july-07-bandsters-35160/

Welcome NewCC. I am getting banded on the 26th also. Finally reached by "I've had it" point earlier this year. The whole process took about 3 months. I am widow with 2 kids, 21 and 24. Live in GA and I am an avid reader of anything, but especially mystery, romance, legal thrillers.

Goodnight Jeanie. I will be going to bed soon, too. I have to get up early tomorrow...talk with you later.
-
Goodnight Dini girl. Get your rest. This weekend we can be on at the same time and be rested.
-
goodnight Lynette. You rest up... good times are coming soon;)
-
Jeanie, I am a nurse, but we are talking MY body and surgery. I am really excited but a little nervous. I just don't need to read bad things and see surgical incisions. Time enough for the incisions next Thursday. WOW!! Just dawned on me...this time next Thursday I will be in bandsterland....actually even a lot earlier
-
Good luck Phyl. I will be thinking about you. Get back here soon so we can all know how well you did...
-
you get you some rest and I hope to talk with you tomorrow...nite nite.
-
Wrangler, welcome back and doing so well, too. You know, my surg is in a week and I have decided I shouldn't look at any more pics of incisions...made me shiver.. Dini girl, I am here and so you. Miracle of miracles. How exciting!!! Going to Italy for 6 days. You will be soooooo HOT! Glad to know Adam is going too. Seems he may be trying to make an effort. Give Annafrancesca a hug from Aunty Sunny  I have my pre op work today. Only a week to go!!!:clap2:

dmtjet, sis, I didn't know it showed while I was working on it. How cool! Good night. Have a good evening. Hi Phyl. Everything going well? I loved your pics. I wonder about Indiogirl too. I haven't seen anything from her in a while. Danny, too.
-
If we are sisters, then I guess I AM Dini's aunt. No wonder she called me Auntie Sunny I put it in. how's it look.
-
dmtjet, I am going to steal you little saying in your signature and put it in mine too if you don't mind. I just love it. I will, of course, change the date. Let's get this show on the road!!!! 7/9/07

Laurend, you are a traveling girl... Went for preop and had gained 4 pounds. I think it is the last supper mentality. So put me down for 284... Have a great vacation!!!

:)Ms Pris, I am so sorry you had such a bad experience. This is the exception and not the rule. I am glad your doctor was able to repair everything and you were discharged quickly. You had some extensive work done. Will you be on liquids for a while because of the esophagus? If so, you will still lose some weight there. I pray for quick recovery for you. Sounds like you have a good doctor. Honest and sincere. Some may have tried to blame it on you anatomy. Linda, I am a nurse educator, too. Small world. I am sorry to hear about your less than stellar experience. We need to hear these things for others who may be researching the surgery. I would suggest copying your message and placing it on the general board too so people looking into surg in Mexico will know. dmtjmt, Hayden is a doll! Look at those little pink lips:) Lynette, glad to be your sunshine. You brighten my day too. Chimboree, my surgery is the day after yours and I had my preop today to. It's getting close. Are you as excited as I am??? Dini girl, where are you??? too much work and no play makes Dini ...unhappy. Hope things are going well with you.

Linda, Tink and Appleblossom, glad things are going so well and that surgery went well. Lynette, I am so glad to hear you are doing better. We can all learn from you experiences. I have been reading yours and dmtjet's conversation about Protein and have learn a great deal. My surgery is in a week, can you believe it, and I need to start stocking up. Hi dmtjet. I went for my pre-op today... chest xray, 6 tubes blood, ekg and final md visit before surgery. I asked him why some people are on strict pre-op and post-op and other aren't. He mentioned about shrinking the liver, but the liver never has presented a problem to him. He figures he is just used to it. He said he is more realistic. Most people are not going to adhere to a strict diet post op. If they could do that they wouldn't need the surgery. He recommend normal diet, just smaller amounts, limiting those things you shouldn't have such as sweets, ice cream, junk food, fast food. Listen to your stomach, stop when you feel full, not stuffed. Proteins and veggies first, then fruit and then, if you have room, a little bit of starch. Just drink 64 oz Fluid a day and 60 gm protein. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Hi. Just had a few minutes here at work and decided to get on quickly so I wouldn't have 87,000 posts to read thru later tonight. Lynette and Patti, I can't believe you both had problems last night. I guess we will all be learning by trial and error what we can and cannot eat. Lynette, I hope you are feeling better today. Sticking to liquids today will give you stomach a chance to calm down. Maybe it was just the pancakes. My doctor says if you eat bread make sure it is toasted or crackers. It is dry and doesn't swell like regular bread. Tinkerbell, good luck of your surgery today. Lainy, it is normal to feel a little down after any type of surgery. We are here for you if you need support. Chimboree- hey girl! Looking good, looking girl. Dini girl, you fell down the stairs!! :embarassed:Thank goodness you weren't hurt, and Annafrancesca too. Give here a hug for me. You are the shopping queen it seems to me. You can sure find a bargain.:biggrin1:
-
Thanks, all, for letting me know I brighten you day. You sure do brighten mine. I never used to be into message boards and such but y'all have definitely changed that. I tell y'all stuff I don't tell anyone else...like my weight.:biggrin1: This is going to be the key to my success...the support from this group, encouraging and sharing with me. Good luck to all having surgery tomorrow. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hurry back and let us know how it went:biggrin1:

Last night I went to bed ready to eat my arm...but this morning I woke up and it was not so bad. When I read this I just started laughing. I could just see you eating your arm and thinking it wasn't too band. :biggrin1: I sure am glad I don't have a pre-op diet:biggrin1:
-
good night, Lynette. hope you "sleep" well tonight;)
-
Patti C., I know how it is. Some days you just feel down. I have been there but this group has been amazing support and we are here for you whenever you need us. Feel free to PM if you ever need to just talk.

Dini girl, Annafrancesca is just so utterly adorable. Takes after her mom I see. Love the curls. She could be mine. My Kelly had curls just like that but very blonde. She still does.
