Which Way Do I Go? Sleeve Or Bypass
Tealover replied to Mich grand's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It also depends what your eating habits are like. If you are a grazer the sleeve won't stop you. If big portions are your problem the sleeve will help with that. Btw I've been sleeved and I dump on cake! -
I wish someone told me this at the time but you do gradually start eating more so if you can just go with this phase and enjoy losing. I am 3 months out and can eat a bit more each week xx

Weight Loss Stall And Eating Too Many Calories?
Tealover replied to SkinnyJeans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should be eating more. If you're on proper food get up to 1,000. -
We've all been there. I can gulp again now. Took a few months though
-
Yep, just sip and don't gulp for a bit.
-
I burped loads!

Please Help Me, I Think I'm The Only One That Has Failed This Surgery
Tealover replied to loveit1222's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What stage are you at diet wise? I'm sure you know you should be following your provider's guidance. It's far too early to say the surgery has failed. My diet is 1000 cals per day and more protein less carbs. I am 3 months out though. Give it time. -

Anyone Had Dumping Syndrome?
Tealover replied to getnsknyntx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do. Usually a couple of hours. It's horrible -
Just wondering does anyone else get dumping symptoms after certain foods? I do and am wondering how many times I have to go through this to stop myself doing it!!
-
I think we have to stop comparing ourselves to others. Easier said than done I know! X

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No problem. If you want to chat by email just pm me. Always happy to help if i can. the drinking thing gets easier every day but it was a good 3 weeks before before i could stop sipping and a good month before my tummy stopped gurgling! i always felt like i was moving wind when i was drinking. Have you tried ice lollies? They were my saving grace, i had all sorts of flavours in the freezer and would get through several a day! Because you suck them they go in slow. Only last weekend did i try my favourite cath kidston mug full of tea, it must take about a pint and it was fine. x -

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Mary I lived in Berkshire most of my life, Wokingham, woodley, Bracknell then 2 years in maidenhead and now London. I never get far from home. We used to cycle to cookham. Lovely place. I can't explain the head change it gives you. I am no longer obsessed with food. I enjoy my meals but when I'm done I'm fine. I can leave stuff on my plate which I could never do preop! And because the weight comes off so quick you stay motivated. I don't buy norty things because then I can't be tempted. You will be fine!! Yes I do take Vitamins but my hospital says sleevers don't need to. My advice is don't buy cheap ones. Get Centrium chewable for the first month. Now I have sanatogen a-z once a day and a Calcium tablet once a day. I have lots of energy so must be doing something right! I know this is a delicate subject but get some senna liquid too. You will get constipated at the beginning!! P.s if you want my email if that's easier just shout. I assume there's a way to do pm's here but not worked it out yet -

No offence meant I just don't get why it's relevant to your decision and a true friend wouldn't be putting excuses in your way. -

What Is This Pain In My Shoulder/neck?
Tealover replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The shoulder is referred pain from the diaphragm I think. I had shoulder pain a few days post op but then it went. Not had it since. -
Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Mary, thank you. I am absolutely loving my sleeve. I feel so different. I didn't think I would as I still have at least 6 stone to go. Getting off the sofa is easier, walking, getting my socks on. All sorts! How exciting that you'll be done on 20th. It'll be here before you know it. Which pre op diet are you doing? I found mine fine. For some reason I found it empowering and didn't cheat at all. I am pretty much sorted with normal food but it has been trial and lots of error for a while. I have a yogurt with granola, Cereal or a slice of brown toast for brekkie, a wrap with ham or chicken or Pitta and houmous for lunch. For dinner I have 2 chicken wings or chicken and veg skewer or a fish cake all with veg. I don't bother with potato, rice etc. I don't have room and don't get on with a lot of it. I think it's more important to have the Protein. At the beginning of normal food I was sick a lot! Every week I get better at working out my portion sizes and what is good for me. I can't do straight fish but fish cakes are great. I have no regrets but had a few occasions when I worried. It's all fine now though. I have no reflux. I have no side effects. If you have any other questions just shout. More than happy to help. P.s did I see you live in maidenhead? I lived there for a bit. -
Hi everyone. I live in London. I was sleeved on 14 July and I have lost 56 lbs so far.
-
I was 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks purée and then 2 weeks soft food. Lots of mashed potato!!
