Small portions in Europe? You must be joking!! Canapés and tapas are the way forward for dining with a sleeve.

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Selena. I'm glad you found it useful. I counted a lot at the beginning. Tiny forkful. 20 chews. Cutlery down. Count 30 seconds before the next one. It's just practice and gets easier as the swelling goes down. I rarely get chest pain now x -

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's natural to check our weight when it has been a problem for so long. I always want to check mine so I can fix any gain quickly! What things can't you eat? I avoid rice but that's about all. Do you feel sick all the time or when you eat? I've done a lot of vomitting usually due to eating too fast or too much. I am pleased I don't ever feel sick though. I'd hate that. Have you tried acid stuff? I dream of being a size 12. It must be amazing. I am nearly 5 stone down with another 7 to go!! Did you have any stalls? I haven't yet but keep expecting one. -

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?
Tealover replied to Scottishlassie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ladies no-one explained this to me so I'm going to tell you. At the beginning 3-4 teaspoons of food seems like nothing and you may keep pushing the boundaries and feel pain or be sick. Try not to. Just go with it. I am 4 months out and can eat a lot more now. I just had 2 mini chicken fillets. 1/2 roasted carrot, 2 small bits of roasted sweet potato and a bit of onion and pepper. I couldn't manage this 1 month ago and was often sick. If I could go back I would embrace my swollen tummy, eat little and lose the weight! I wish someone had told me this before x -

One Week Out And Having Many Ups And Downs
Tealover replied to mandys84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets easier. But why not use it as an opportunity to improve your son's diet? -
Guys until you are on proper food you have no way of knowing what is enough. Even now at 3 months out I'm still learning. Full now does not equal pre-op full. Besides how many of us stopped at full pre-op? I generally went for stuffed.

No never heard of it either. I wouldn't worry about it.

Lots of luck with your journey whatever you do. This isn't easy for anyone xx

Do You Still Look Forward To Food Or Enjoy It?
Tealover replied to Bryan Whitson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why can't you have caffeine? I've had tea from day 1. Your relationship with food is going to change. You won't be able to over eat or seek comfort from it. To be honest that's what got us in this mess in the first place. It is absolutely fine post op. you can have bits of whatever but an all you can eat Buffett will be a waste of time. -
I can't help but feel people are missing the point. It's fine to not want to have your photo taken or not engage in activities because of your weight and I don't think anyone likes being overweight but having a breakdown at work is a sign of other problems to me.

Can you get some CBT? You have to learn to love yourself however you look and then learn that people really aren't watching you/talking about you all the time. I'm not saying its easy. My sister is exactly the same as you and I see how it affects her life every day. It worries me that people have surgery and these major issues are not dealt with. You will no doubt lose the weight but you may be disappointed it hasn't changed your life xx

I think you have self esteem issues. I am shorter than you and weigh more than you having lost over 60 lbs and I never get like that. WLS does not fix your head I'm afraid x

Yep. Make them a bit sloppier though.

"normal Life" Down The Road?

Yes of course. I don't think we will ever eat 'normal' size portions though.
