    Insanity

  2. I am 12 weeks post -op (3 months). Absolutely no regrets. Love my sleeve. I am down 60 lbs since day of surgery. Have about 20 lbs until goal. (Didn't realize that until I just typed it out!! Woo-hoo!!) I have to say, buying food is not expensive, FOR ME. What the what? I am not eating, lol. Honestly. A bag of frozen veggies I can eat for about 5-7 days plus whatever Protein. I do have to also say, I don't think I can eat as much as others at this stage. I read other's MFP diary/log, and see others at 6 weeks that can eat more than I can at 12 weeks. I definitely have to eat more often and I realize not all of our journeys are going to be exact. A lot of our activities revolve around food, we have to find other ways to deal and relate or we will not be a success. On my family, we Celebrate with food, we mourn with food, we socialize with food, you get the picture. I have learned to nourish my body to survive and for sustenance. I can celebrate with a car, a pedicure, a swimsuit, you get the picture. Make the journey your own, but listen and adapt. Good luck!

    3 months out can i?

Usually 8-12 weeks out, per your surgeons instructions and/or any medical issues you may or may not have. Pretty vague, huh? When in doubt, call the doc.
  5. Fortunately, not everyone's experience is the same. Although I was by no means running a marathon, I was ok, no pain meds, left the hospital and went shopping at a mall. Glad to see/read you are doing better.

  7. You look stunning!! Congratulations!!
  8. This is the same reason I opted to not tell my mom, nor anyone else. My husband knew - but he didn't take me seriously. One day he saw me preparing (4 days out) and asked me where I was going. I said..."MEXICO!" It was hilarious. He got online and booked a ticket and went with me. He was genuinely amazed AND impressed with the quality of care and how professional everything was. I don't know what he expected, but but my experience was not like it was a chop shop. Sheesh. My doctor received his education here in the states, practiced here for several years, and chooses to practice in Mexico. If every one is so concerned and willing to help out, let them come with you. But if all they can offer are negative comments and replies and can not offer up any support, let them get their own counseling to deal. YOU know what's best for you, and sometimes pleasing everyone else is not the answer. I wish you the best in your decision.

    Low iron & vitamin D

Mine was VERY low. Single digits. I started taking iron in the middle of December and had surgery January 11th. All cases are different, but I was fine for surgery.

    Low iron & vitamin D

It should cause no problems at all. Be grateful they caught it, especially if just at a routine check-up/physical. I took iron up until the day before surgery, per surgeons orders. 10 weeks out and iron and vitamin d levels are normal.
  13. I am happy to say...I no longer have to sip, sip, sip. I hated that nonsense. Lol I'm 10 weeks out, and since about week 6 or 7 is when I noticed I can take, what i consider to be a legitimate drink of Water. Nothing else about this surgery has bothered me.

My Sleeve experience in Mexico :)

Today is 10 weeks post-op! Everything's still going well. Hopped on the scale and -4 lbs this week. (-54 total) Started getting a little more creative since I have been cleared for most. Adding a new food item daily to see how my sleeve tolerates, and so far everything has been great. chicken breast is still tough, but if i use some BBQ sauce (1 tbsp) or the like, it goes down easier. Canned chicken breast seems to be better for me. The pictures are to help visually. (My first post kept saying "error" so I've edited the post) ??

    Negative Boyfriend

WTF? "You've let yourself go?" Well, with ****-for-brains-boyfriend like that, I can see why he would think so. Obviously his input shouldn't matter much, you had the surgery withOUT his approval. And that's permanent and irreversible. Now, tell me, why should a stupid ass comment about a swimsuit make much difference to you? Because you've worked hard and wanted validation from someone you care about. Obviously, he doesn't feel the same. Now kick his ass to the curb and work that swimsuit. Someone else with some common-ass courtesy will appreciate you more. I promise.

"what if they say I am too big?" input, please

Ok...I wanted to do yoga and I was afraid of being too big for yoga, although I was flexible. Notice: I did not say I could balance well for a big girl. I went to the yoga instructor and asked BEFORE class if I was too big to participate in her class. If she felt I was, "tel me and don't spare my feelings. I don't want to waste my time or yours thinking I can be in this class without ridicule." She smiled and told me I would be fine. She would assist me with any modifications needed. Best thing ever. Really! She walked around the room and gave direction and would occasionally stop next to me and show me a modification to the pose, all without interrupting the class. YAY!! She has 80 people per class, and turns others away when at capacity. For the extra reassurance, I would have the friend speak to the instructor before hand and just let them know they are interested. I think it allows the instructor to feel free to offer modifications without embarrassment or prejudice to either one of them. I now go once per week and love it! Hope this helps!
  18. Oh goodness. First off, I am married. I have hurt my husbands feelings and he has hurt mine, at some point in our marriage. It will happen again, but it is definitely not with intent. I have asked him to leave me alone for a little while, but to flat out "not talking to you" anymore mentality? I would have to pull his pants down and whoop his ass like the child he is behaving like. You did say those words. You did tell him it was ok. If his feelings are hurt because you said it was ok and then said something snarky (even if he took it out of context), apologize and move on. And if he doesn't want to open his mouth and talk, he sure as hell doesn't need to open his mouth and eat food that I cook. Lmao. This is all said with southern hospitality, of course.
  19. Oh. My. Gosh. HUGE difference! You look amazing! Your positive attitude is such a great asset! BTW - your fur babies are I see in that pic are awfully cute!!
