ladies just a suggestion
abetterme4.2 replied to tlah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with Laura. I must have looked like a hot mess. I did not do my makeup while I was in the hospital. I brushed my hair, showered and personal hygiene, but I did not pull out makeup. I felt fine about it. Lol. My mind was more on recovery and walking laps. -
Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer
abetterme4.2 replied to rsmont77's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Depends on what your goals are. Cardio 5 days a week is great, strength teaming 3 times per week and cardio 2 times per week is even better! The 10 min. Trainer is great for intervals (getting the HR up) and for working different muscle groups. I have it and use it when traveling if no gym is going to be accessible. I will do 3 or 4 in a row to get a good workout in. Hope this helps. -
I agree with butter. It depends on your needs. A basic HR monitor will suit you find for calories in vs calories out. The ones with a best strap will give you a more accurate reading. I prefer Polar and use the FT60. They just released this years model so it is considerably less than it was. Hope this helps.

I get mine at whole foods or market street and squish it out of the machine. Au natural.

Remember...In the first couple of weeks, water first, protein second. Makes a world of difference. Our bodies can survive with what we have stored....it needs the water to stay hydrated.

Decaffeinated Iced Tea!
abetterme4.2 replied to patsybrown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Iced tea seemed to be the only liquid (other than Protein shakes) that my sleeve likes/d. For 12 weeks, Water made me nauseated wether it was chilled, room temp, or hot. But iced tea, has been a saving grace. Enjoy the journey! -
I base it on how much stays down. has happened several times when it comes to chicken. 15 weeks out and my Jeffrey dahlmer sleeve does not like chicken.

Whats the hardest part for you?!
abetterme4.2 replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The hardest part for me was the sip, sip, sip. I don't know why...it drove me crazy. And then I was more focused on it and it drove me more crazy. I am 13 weeks out and can drink "normal" now. I believe it was around week 8 when I actually NOTICED I could. I now eat to live, not live to eat. -

YAY! Everything will be great! See a few sights and enjoy the mini-vacay! -
That's awesome! My stepdaughters, who live with us (15&13) drank the evening Protein shake with me, or had a salad with lean protein with me. The other meals Breakfast and lunch at school, they ate normal. I thought it was great they chose to support me by not eating all that stuff in front of me! Glad to see him being supportive!

Gerard Butler in 300? Yes, please. Ryan Reynolds? Any day of the week? Thor? Mmhhmm. He's my baby daddy, hypothetically. I thank goodness for his parents, they have 2 beautiful children. Russell Crowe physique in Gladiator? Definite plus. ("Are you NOT entertained?!") That pretty much sums it all up for me. What were we talking about?
