Aaaawwwwww....congratulations! I can't wait to hear those words! Something other than, "you have such a pretty face."

You can mix it with anything! (Depending on if your dr says its ok) I mix it Water or coffee. Almond milk is good, also.

I LOVE shakeology. It really is one of the better tasting protein shakes out there. It does not have the 20g + like the others, but it really is yummy. I like the chocolate. The Greenberry is not my thing, it has a strange after taste, to me. Now, you have to decide is it worth the $100 for 30 servings? If she sells it, she should be able to provide you with a sample. Hope this helps.

It sounds like, which is the same for many of us, there is an emotional attachment to food. You can still have these things, just in smaller quantities. In my large, southern family, we eat meals at weddings, after funerals, birthdays, celebrations, etc. we equate those feelings with food. So yes, I can say it, I am an emotional eater. Which is why I have started early in attempting to get these emotions and feelings under control. I worry about it constantly. Yes, I am pre-sleeve and want my emotions under control. My relationship with food needs to be for nourishment, not drowning. "Will my children suffer because I will not be able to do those things?" I have 4 daughters and do not want them to have body image issues or to "eat" their emotions. I will be able to enjoy life, all in smaller quantities. Definitely speaking with others, like-minded individuals will help. I am learning their is plenty of support here, on these boards. Don't regret your decision to be happy and healthy, with a better self image. You deserve it!

If they are the noOdle brand....the smell of them was awful. Terrible! Then I tasted them, and they tasted liked they smelled. Lol. I threw the entire box away right then. It was a case. I switched to using spaghetti squash as my pasta and completely satisfied. I am pre-sleeve, so maybe those things will not bother me post-sleeve.

Protein Shakes?
abetterme4.2 replied to beatles girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury has an unflavored you can add to your current drink. I am pre-sleeve but I drink a lot of protein drinks. Nectar has a BUFFET of flavors to choose from. You can even purchase them in individual packs to try them out. Hope this helps. -
Cappuccino. Mmmmmm. Because I like coffee-ish drinks.

Wow! We must have watched some of the same videos! It looked like some voodoo snake. Lol. It has to feel weird being pulled from the insides.

Ah. Thanks for the response. I've read nothing but good things about him from others on these boards. You will be in great hands.

Dr David Kim Colleyville
abetterme4.2 replied to berthaeaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't say I had a good experience. I didn't have an experience. Lol. Took 5 weeks to get in (because he's become famous, I'm guessing). I went through the consultation and the insurance people were my last stop and I was told, "I'll call you and let you know where we go from here, by Friday." I didn't think too much of it, that was only a couple of days. I heard from her (insurance personnel in his office) in 6 weeks and 4 days. Huh? I called, no return calls, no nothing. I'm guessing I am just that one person that "fell through the hoops." She did apologize, repeatedly, stating she just found my file on a shelf and didn't know why she had put it there, it was misplaced and she just happened to be cleaning. I'm sure he is very good at what he does. If you type dr. Kim in the search above, there is another post I read in reference to him. Probably give you some better insight. Hope this helps. -
Congratulations! What an amazing feeling!

Hi everyone! I just want to take a moment to thank ALL of you who take the time to post in here and give your experiences, positive and negative, and your feedback on surgery in Mexico. Brief history; Insurance denied several times. I have no medical comorbidities and I would literally need to EAT my way into the surgery to gain 11 lbs, and it would still ALL need to be done by the end of the year (including all of the surgery). Truly impossible. I have jumped through hoops for several months to attempt to get the VSG. A couple of weeks ago I just, by chance, entered "gastric sleeve self-pay" in to the search engine and this forum popped up. At the time, I had NEVER even considered going to Mexico to get it done. I have done nothing but lurk, read, read, lurk, research, research, and then research and read some more. You guys are a wealth of information!!! As of Thursday, I am booked for surgery and headed to Mexico for my surgery date of Jan. 11, 2013. (I am only waiting until then to get me through my busy time of year - self-employed) Thanks again!!
