I just searched and there are several posts/threads referencing him. If you go up to the top and type his name in the search box, they will list for you. Happy searching and enjoy the journey! -
I hope the band works for you. Statistically speaking, people that need to lose 30-40 lbs the band may work for you. Just do your part and go in for your check-ups on a very regular basis. Just keep in mind, the hunger will still be there and you may not be satisfied, EVER. A very dear friend described it to me as "literally starving all the time and there is nothing she can do about it." Hopefully, this will not be your case. She scheduled to have it removed because she was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She lost a total of 36 pounds, gained 24 back (12 lost total) and goes in for removal in November. Wishing you the best!

Does Anyone Out There Just Not Like Protein Shakes And Don't Drink Them?
abetterme4.2 replied to pdog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make coffee the night before and put it in the refrigerator. In the a.m. I mix it with chocolate Protein powder. YYUUMM. sometime even a tbsp. of almond butter. Even better. I am pre-sleeve so I don't if any of that falls within what you can and cannot have post-sleeve (dr. Instructions) but, it just gives a different taste instead of the same ole same ole. -

After gastric sleeve surgery, your body's need for Protein increases from an average of 50 g per day to 80 g per day, per person (depending on male vs. female and weigh). hair and muscles are made up of protein (keratin). If you do not eat enough protein, you risk losing hair and lean muscle mass. Due to anesthesia and protein deficiencies, people due tend to lose hair. Eat all your protein!

Any Leaks From Surgeries In Mexico?
abetterme4.2 replied to Lollyx3's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi there! I don't post very much, just randomly, but I lurk and read, research, lurk and read some more. I have booked my surgery in Mexico for January 11th. These are my thoughts on this particular subject. (Leaks in Mexico) You are going to find leaks can be from any particular surgeon. In reading these forums, I actually read where there are more leaks/complications from U.S. based surgeons. That does not mean I have read every single post on these forums. I will also say that you can type "leak" in the search box up there and really freak yourself out. But, it is good to be informed of both sides and know that all of these things are possible. Yes, I've done it and still do. My heart aches for these people, but I have to be an informed patient, and know it can happen to myself also. Make the decision that is best for you. Stick to your pre-op diet and follow it to a "T" - it's there for a reason. -
Keeping you "losers" in my thoughts. you'll be great! See you on the other side. Keep us posted.

I'm pre-sleeve, so I can't tell you from experience for the reason why after you've been sleeved. I know for me, I've never been a red meat eater. It's strange. I don't like steak or hamburgers. I FEEL like its hard on my stomach, that it is hard for my stomach to break it down or something. Just HEAVY, if that makes any sense. I tend to like seafood (lighter) and chicken (but can't be dry). So eat all that yummy seafood! Packed full of protein! There are a ton of recipes for shrimp ... And it's easy to travel to and from work with without much prepping. Hope the helps.

Mexico Surgery And Post-Op Pain/gass
abetterme4.2 replied to Holly5.3's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hhhmmmmm. Maybe the day early shouldn't have been? From what I understand, most people leave the hospital and then stay at the hotel for a few days? Add that in addition to the day early with a hernia repair...but it sounds as though you live pretty close. I hope you feel better soon! Maybe gasx strips? -
Any Pre-Op Sleevers In Dfw, Tx?
abetterme4.2 replied to Anume81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm in McKinney, TX. and pre-sleeve. I'm heading to Cancun for mine, though. Insurance wants me to give them both arms and legs to have WLS and definitely feel this is the way to go for me.
