  1. just a follow up to you guys: i am 6 weeks without a drink :-) . super hard but i did a chemical dependance program through kaiser. had an impatient and outpatient program. i currently go to aa and i have a sponsor. last straw was learning my bilirubin was elevated, thanks for the encouragement!

  2. you will be fine in a month or so. i think many of us feel depressed at one point after surgery. i took lots of pain meds and felt very depressed too in the begining. i was thinking what the hell did i do? maybe being heavy wasnt so bad? it gets better i promise, the next phase will be your hubbys jealousy. you will start getting tons of attention, and you will feel your wearing the pants. just assure him hes the only one and youll be fine. gl, im 4 months out now but i fell into bad depression for awhile.

  3. I also found 2 things that helped with liquids and Protein at first. Isopure' date=' which is like Gatorade in glass bottles, got it at Vitamin Shop and GNC. Low calorie, no carb and protein! I also order Special K2O Protein Mix from Amazon, like crystal light only with protein, put some in a big glass of Water and sip all day long!

does that k20 taste good? what flavor? i gave up on Protein drinks 2 months ago. im 4 months out so i eat a lot of greek yogurt, cheese, and hard boiled eggs. i want a new drink, im just burnt out on chocolate/vanilla crap lol. the liquid stage made me hate to go back to a few things.

  4. hi guys im back. thanks for all the encouraging posts. i attended aa several times and will probably be back at one soon. still have my slip ups and on a bad habit schedule again. ill be honest though, the sleeve has been a success. i have changed the types of foods i eat, and mainly gotten my portion problem under control. when i look back at when i posted this, i cant believe id been looking for issues related to drinking. i found an answer, now i have constant intestinal pain! no idea what it is either (pretty sure i know what caused it). no insurance since december so im on a scarey path, cant believe i still pick up drinks. anyhow im trying and doing well in other ways, sucks i am letting this get the best of me. 221 lbs today from 299 sept 27th when i had surgery. whopping 78 pounds in 4 months!

  5. thanks for the ideas. failed this weekend on drinking. i drank a gallon of ale, half a bottle of wine and two shots of whisky sunday :-( just got off work and gonna try an aa meeting for the first time in my life. i feel pretty pathetic. has it really come to this?

  6. thanks for the tips, seems everyday that goes by i get more and more fed up with my drinking. going to try and go this weekend without drinking. as far as your comment about your friend she must have been a bybass because our pyloric valve doesnt allow alcohol to pass any sooner.

  7. yes, food plays such a huge roll. last week i finally got a sitter and me and the wife went on a date. so hard to date without a lot of food haha. either way we went to pf changs and shared some mango chicken. my plate looked like one of those fancy restaraunts cause my portion was so small on such a big plate. the chopsticks slow you down too :-)

  8. still having 4 guiness at least every other day and sometimes a few shots. stuck in a head battle but im hoping its just a phase. its adding about 600 calories i dont need. no gaining on the weight side but im really tired of the same food. Breakfast (yogurt or hardboiled eggs) lunch (tuna or lunchmeat wrapped in cheese) dinner ( roast with steam veggie, or any light meat. any breakfast or lunch ideas?

  9. Its not that I want freedom, I need fear. Alcoholism has been a struggle and don't get me wrong I try hard not to cave in. Today I was glad to be honest with the doc, they gave me a medicine to coat my stomach and to prevent ulcers. Doc said u don't want bleeding because your stomach being small, makes it more difficult to repair.
