sleevin scotty replied to MLCT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i would recommend not rushing, because as a 4 month post op sleever, i have noticed my most dramatic weight loss was during this period. most of my weight fell off the 1st 2 months and more people in my months, are experiencing stalls. im thinking of going back to full liquids a bit. gl, hang in there, its worth it. -
4 weeks out and really struggling
sleevin scotty replied to IndigoOrchid's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
you will be fine in a month or so. i think many of us feel depressed at one point after surgery. i took lots of pain meds and felt very depressed too in the begining. i was thinking what the hell did i do? maybe being heavy wasnt so bad? it gets better i promise, the next phase will be your hubbys jealousy. you will start getting tons of attention, and you will feel your wearing the pants. just assure him hes the only one and youll be fine. gl, im 4 months out now but i fell into bad depression for awhile. -
thanks, i like crystal light so im hoping ill like this too. see? who says searching the forums during insomnia is a bad thing :-)

i was told the reason salad wasnt so good was because of bulk. it tends to make us feel full faster and we may not get much protein during that meal. aside from that, if you tolerate it well then enjoy some now and then :-)

Starting Puree Diet
sleevin scotty replied to Losing weight's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
when i was in puree, i ate a lot of yogurt and cottage cheese. loved fat free refried beans with light sour cream. also i bought talapia filets and mixed it with light mayo and lemon juice, like a homade tuna. this was a staple dinner for awhile. gl on your new foods. -

Starting My Journey
sleevin scotty replied to turlinsen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i remember hoping surgery was right around the corner lol. it will be the best decision you ever made. i too struggled with weight all my life and the sleeve was that push that really made a difference. the liquid part is rough but once you come out of it, you truely eat differently and the pounds fall off. sugar free popsicles are my best friends to this day. -

so awesome to see so much weight loss from you guys. i hit 78lbs loss today from 9/27. had a minor complication 4 weeks ago but not sure what it is. doesnt feel like gas pain, nothing triggers it. always there just a dull soreness or ache in my lower mid stomach. -
hi guys im back. thanks for all the encouraging posts. i attended aa several times and will probably be back at one soon. still have my slip ups and on a bad habit schedule again. ill be honest though, the sleeve has been a success. i have changed the types of foods i eat, and mainly gotten my portion problem under control. when i look back at when i posted this, i cant believe id been looking for issues related to drinking. i found an answer, now i have constant intestinal pain! no idea what it is either (pretty sure i know what caused it). no insurance since december so im on a scarey path, cant believe i still pick up drinks. anyhow im trying and doing well in other ways, sucks i am letting this get the best of me. 221 lbs today from 299 sept 27th when i had surgery. whopping 78 pounds in 4 months!

thanks for the ideas. failed this weekend on drinking. i drank a gallon of ale, half a bottle of wine and two shots of whisky sunday :-( just got off work and gonna try an aa meeting for the first time in my life. i feel pretty pathetic. has it really come to this?

thanks for the tips, seems everyday that goes by i get more and more fed up with my drinking. going to try and go this weekend without drinking. as far as your comment about your friend she must have been a bybass because our pyloric valve doesnt allow alcohol to pass any sooner.

Hello, I am still pretty new here but im trying to find similar stories and experiences. My 1st follow up is tomorrow with the surgeon. I haven't been keeping good track on what amounts of liquids and foods im taking in. im starting to have a really hard time with excepting how hard this really is, i imagined it difficult but this is insane! i fantasize about any food now, i wish i could taste everything that comes on the damn commercials. im still in whole liquids but i have been cheating with small curd cottage cheese and refried beans the past few days. no nausea, just sudden fullness quickly after eating a few bites. i gave up on the one ounce cups to measure, now i just sip or eat slow in a small container. i have blender fantasies about junk food!

Head Challenge! 15 Days Post Op
sleevin scotty replied to sleevin scotty's topic in Food and Nutrition
yes, food plays such a huge roll. last week i finally got a sitter and me and the wife went on a date. so hard to date without a lot of food haha. either way we went to pf changs and shared some mango chicken. my plate looked like one of those fancy restaraunts cause my portion was so small on such a big plate. the chopsticks slow you down too :-) -

Its not that I want freedom, I need fear. Alcoholism has been a struggle and don't get me wrong I try hard not to cave in. Today I was glad to be honest with the doc, they gave me a medicine to coat my stomach and to prevent ulcers. Doc said u don't want bleeding because your stomach being small, makes it more difficult to repair.
