    My Final Diet Plan

Just a quick followup. Almost 6 weeks post-op and today was the first day I didn't lose any weight. I never thought I would say I am happy about that but I was getting concerned. I was losing between .5 to 2 lbs every day which was a little scary. Just this week I have been able to eat small amounts of solids without my stomach feeling terrible. I want to get to my goal weight but ready for a slower pace. My energy level is pathetic. Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Bariatric advantage multivitamins

The first few days using them they did "burn" my stomach. Now I take 1 in the morning and then another around 2pm and it seems to be fine now.

    Any january surgery out there

I also was sleeved on January 14. Don't feel bad about complaining about fatigue. After 3 weeks off, tomorrow is my first day back at work and I am freaking out. Same issue, still can't eat very much and trouble with getting all protein. I feel anything but rested. I guess it just takes patience. I was just doing well with puree stage but stomach pains over last 2 days has me back to just eating cottage cheese, yogurt, shakes, etc. Can't yet take all my vitamin and other supplements, just burns my stomach. Good luck and keep me updated. This is a journey that will be well worth it in the long run.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I was sleeved on January 14, 2013 ! No regrets but it has been difficult. Wasn't discharged until Friday due to bleeding issues. This is the first day able to take micro-sips of fluids without significant pain. Very concerned with staying hydrated.

    My Final Diet Plan

Going to be "on the table" in just a few hours. I have lost over 15 lbs in the past 10 days from pre-op diet. My mind says do you really need to go ahead with this drastic surgery. Experience reminds me that I always lose quickly on liquid diets but then it ALWAYS comes back! Here I go!!!!!!!!!

    My Final Diet Plan

Thanks Jersey Girl. As a matter of fact I was just in the Paramus Park mall for the first time since 30 years ago. Was very nostalgic for me to see that Nathan's, where I started my road to obesity, was still there in the food court! I see you are almost a month post op. Any words of motivation?!

    My Final Diet Plan

Just heard from the doctor, insurance has approved! In just a few days I have to start the pre-op diet. Had bloodwork this morning. Surgery can't come soon enough for me. Diabetes is getting worse, was sick from major sugar reading fluctuations even though I was good with dieting and staying away from sweets. This site is very important to me and looking forward to sharing my journey.

    My Final Diet Plan

Robyn, yes you hit on my biggest fear, the stress eating! Work is constantly present. I'll get the calls even as I am driving home from the hospital. This is why I am taking serious the need for counseling during this whole process. I'm anticipating that I will start using my treadmill at home once I regain energy from the weight loss. Sorry to hear about your insurance,Jussme, but I'm sure with more documentation you will be approved. Good luck and keep me updated.

    My Final Diet Plan

Well, my doctor is confident that I will be approved by insurance. Hope we don't have any surprises. I am booked for surgery January 14, 2013! Time to really prepare and start living as my new life will be. Must be good during this time of food and festivities. Happy Holidays!

    Depression

Congratulations on your 1 month milestone! You've touched on a topic that has me really concerned about for myself in going forward with the surgery. Depression is a real and actually common issue with WLS. My counselor threw out a statistic of about a 95% chance of depression affecting me since I was treated for it once before in my early twenties. I still feel the frustration of not being able to "shut my mouth" so that I don't have to have 85% of my stomach removed. I know that I have so many co-morbidities right now that it will be worth it and will actually save my life. As you adjust to your new weight loss, I am sure the depressing times will be overcome by joy. That is what I keep telling myself and wish the same for you.

    My Final Diet Plan

So I had my last nutrition session on 11/21 and physician's office applied to insurance company so now the wait game begins. Hoping for mid to late January surgery to really start the new year right. Frustrated that even with all the sessions and psych consults I find myself still making bad food choices. Had been down in the 250's last week but now on Monday morning back up to horrible 267. Will try to use this website more often for motivation.

Thanks for the advice. This website is great. Overall, everyone is positive about going through with it. Scary but important to also read about the not so successful outcomes.

    9-Weeks Post-Op Update!

Congratulations! I will be having my 5th nutrition appointment in a few weeks. Approved by psych. Completed upper endoscopy. I will follow your journey and probably take you up on your offer to ask questions. Currently going back and forth in my thinking that I really should be able to lose weight without having 85% of my stomach removed but then again I know the reality. Thanks and great job!
