    If no NAIDS...then what?

Some people here say you can take NSAIDs. I was told no way by my doc, and I'm going to follow his guidance. I have been lucky to only twing my back once since surgery. Tylenol does nothing for me, so it's a worry for me as well.
  2. Congrats on the 50 off! Rock on. I haven't had that experience, sorry! Actually, it's just the opposite. I have a lot more stamina, it's harder, and it's bigger. Sorry, dude...may just have been a fluke! Maybe you were just too excited about getting it! I know that feeling, believe me. Maybe try rubbing one out prior...
  3. Doc's appointment went well. All clear for 'normal' life. May try to get my sushi/sashimi fix in today. Can't wait!

    Oopsie bread

Have made three batches of it now. So great. Last night, I added in some Italian seasoning into the mix, as well as some garlic powder. Then, just a few minutes before they were ready, about a tablespoon of rf cheddar on each. So, so good with a scrambled egg on it this AM.
  5. aimeettu, that's great. Congrats! Sushi, my, how I miss sushi! I have my "Cleared for regular food" appointment this afternoon, and am considering having a little sashimi or sushi (with just a little rice) this weekend. I really don't feel hungry often, but have had a head-hunger craving for a spicy salmon roll recently!!! So happy for everyone. Aimee, having lived so long over that 300 number, I know what a great mental barrier it is to smash through. Rock it, sister!
  6. I haven't had any labs done, either, although I do go in on Friday for an appointment. I heard a similar bad story about drinking from someone in my program's support group...think I'll not push my luck for a little while still. Blessings, rock on!!!! That's great.

Where do you men shop for regular sizes?

Isn't that awesome? When I bought my jeans at Walmart a few weeks ago, I couldn't believe how cheap the price was compared to Casual Male. Although I hate CM, and have vowed to never shop there again, I went into one this weekend and returned a few XMas presents that were far too large...they were very helpful, and I actually walked out with a pair of 42-32 pants. I'm not a 42, but I will be soon.
  8. Oh, I was totally satisfied. And it all tasted great. Was totally fine with my parents' reaction, or lack thereof. I didn't want the party to turn into a big conversation about the surgery or my eating, and it didn't. When I told them the news in December, my mother told me that she basically disapproved of me getting sleeved, and my father was generically supportive. I can't control what they do or don't do. I can only control myself. I was happy it didn't become an issue yesterday.
  9. BDay Party #2 went fine. Parents were completely quiet about the surgery; didn't say a word about it, my loss, or anything until my sis in law asked a question, and then they asked one or two. I'm down 30+ from the surgery, and it's noticeable, especially if you haven't seen me in a month, which they hadn't. Was glad that the food comments, etc. didn't overtake my son's day. As for the party food, his requested menu was nachos, pizza and this great local kielbasa that I kind of grew up on. And, of course, cake/ice cream. I had no nachos, although I did have a spoonful of guacamole in the kitchen. So good. I took the cheese off half a slice of pizza and ate that, and had 2oz of the kielbasa. At this stage, I'm allowed turkey sausage, so I rationalized it that way. For dessert, I had one of my sf/ff chocolate puddings with PB2 while everyone had cake. Everything went down fine, and I'm down 3 on this week's weigh-in, so no harm done. No cravings for any of it today. I heart my sleeve. emeraldeye and newme, that's awful. We are capable of such cruelty to our kids. I have made such an effort to not do that to my teenage daughter. Being a teen SUCKS, and I think being a teenage girl is so much harder than being a teenage boy. She's got a minor weight problem, but I would never in a million years do something like that...I hope. She'll have to chart her own path through this, and I hope I can offer only support for how she does it. newme, I really debated about who to tell. I'm basically a writer professionally, so wrote a very long note to my friends that, until the morning of the surgery, I was unsure whether I would post to Facebook and send by e-mail to those not on FB. It was therapeutic to write, and that was the major point. I posted/emailed it just before I left for the hospital, and I'm so happy I did. Such wonderful support. Honestly, I don't know how I'd do it without them all. But I'm an extroverted person, and that wouldn't work for everyone.

    Constipation

If I have another child, he or she will be named Milk of Magnesia.

    Constipation

Think I'm going to try Milk of Magnesia first. But thank you.

    Constipation

The constipation is ridiculous. Like, in the sense of never before have I been constipated liked this. Ground up some exlax and have tried that unsuccessfully. Will try Milk of Magnesia.
  13. Yeah, I can relate! I didn't tell my parents until the day before I started my 12-day pre-op diet. I walked in, and even before I had taken my coat off, I was offered a piece of (wonderful smelling) seafood quiche AND, when I politely declined that, a piece of cake. They mean well, and that's what they know/what I knew.
  14. Blessings, I haven't tried Jerky yet, but I think after this coming Friday, I will. I do love it, and it's great high Protein. I am ridiculously constipated. Like crazy level. As for the stall, I think just hang in there. It will break. I've had two, and they just come and go on their own. Just keep doing what you're doing, and don't weigh daily, if you do that. Stef, congrats!!! That's also progress. I've never been able to eat just one Hershey's Kiss! Have not attempted trying the bowl of them that is in the kitchen right now. And I agree, it's weird not really wanting to eat often. Woobs, that's a great compromise. Not sure how it would work in my house, but if it works for you, awesome. The kids' Snacks are still coming into my house too, which isn't as much of an issue, but the wife is nibbling on those too. I don't have much desire for them at this point. Birthday Party #2 this afternoon, including the "haven't seen me in a month" appearance from my parents. "Food is Love" in my house growing up, so this ought to be interesting!!!!!

    Sex... Oh My God... Sex!

So, um, report from the field here. The stars aligned last night for the second time since the surgery, and the tales of increased endurance, better blood flow, etc. have magically appeared here as well. If it was a placebo from reading this, I'll take it, but it was definitely noticeable to both of us. Woot, Woot!
  16. That's great...will have to try the Fitbit. Thanks! As for spouses, yes, you're absolutely right. On one hand, I've deliberately told her and the kids that I don't want them to feel like they had surgery too. On the other hand, they're kind of coming along for the ride. I didn't say anything about all the treats. Wasn't the time or place for it, and I actually think she's having a harder time with it emotionally than I am. My son's b-day was yesterday, and she got him a fantastic-looking double-chocolate cake at the store. I decided (not for I-gotta-have-it reasons, but for this-is-my-boy's-special-day reasons) that I'd try a taste. And that's what I had...a taste, about the size of half my pinkie, maybe. It was good, and I didn't need any more. Progress?

Has anyone on solid food tried Triscuits?
  19. Nice job! I am no longer tempted by sweets at this point. My wife got the kids candy, made cookies, had my favorite flavor of Hershey Kisses in the house, and I didn't touch any of it. As an aside/vent, gosh, thanks so much!!!! I am, however, back to my peanut butter addiction. Not overdoing it, but Teddie has re entered the house now that I'm on soft solids, and I'm using it for shakes, etc. May have to ban that cute bear after this jar is gone. I have some PB2 and should use that instead.
  20. I went for a regular dentist appointment last week and had no problems, but probably did swallow more water than I'd hoped to. I explained that I had the surgery, which led to the perpetual issue of them trying to talk to me during g the appointment.

    Oopsie bread

I was wondering about that. The recipe didn't explicitly say refrigerate so I didn't. And toasting is a great idea too!

    Oopsie bread

Had mine with the better part of a scrambled egg and some lf cheese this AM. I used 1 piece of the bread and just folded it up. Likes: - Felt like it was solid. Nice to have something bread-like. - Nice, soft texture. Hard to believe the metamorphosis from when they came out of the oven! - Went down fine. The one I had weighed half an ounce, so didn't eat the full egg to compensate. - Tasted good. Very mellow but definitely had flavor. - Very low calorie and got a few g of Protein from it, with no carbs. - Smelled awesome cooking it. Dislikes - Might have been how I stored them (in a ziploc on the counter after they cooled), but mine were a little sticky to the touch. Two stuck together in the bag and are sort of shot. - Didn't really taste like bread. More like a small soufflé. Not bad, but not bread flavor. I have packed one for lunch today to have with some chicken salad. This one's in the fridge, so it'll be curious to see if being cold helps with the stickiness issue. But really happy I found these! Love this place!!!
