    How are your insitions

All the dermabond is off my actual incision marks, but there's some left around the perimeter of each.
  2. Congrats on getting through the party! And, wow, great idea on the avocado.
  3. I was expecting the followup post to be completely unintelligible.

    How are your insitions

Called my doc today because one of my five incisions, the bigger one, still is tender. Nurse told me that this is perfectly normal 3-4 weeks out, and not to be concerned unless it's oozing, which I guess is good medical advice in general.
  5. Absolutely. I love almond milk. Only downside is that you're not getting much, if any, protein from that like you are with milk. But adds a good flavor.
  6. So, having a shake or two a day at this stage, and have bought tubs of Isopure chocolate (yum), GNC vanilla (yum) and Isopure unflavored (yuck). Trying to mix flavors up a bit and thought I'd share two things that are pretty delish. 1.) 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint oil in either the chocolate or vanilla. Yeah, it's alcohol, but a miniscule amount in a 12-oz drink. Even a few drops is noticeable flavor! 2.) For a mealtime shake, adding a 1/4 cup of pumpkin, some nutmeg and cinnamon to the vanilla powder with 12 oz of Water or milk. Really good and filling too.

    CHIRRRACHA

Like heaven. Like a slightly painful, Why-Women-Like-50-Shades-of-Grey, like oh-that's-hot-but-tastes-so-good, spicy blend of hot chilis, and maybe garlic and maybe vinegar and definitely heaven. It adds a wonderful flavor, not just heat. It's hot but not insanely hot, nor hot just for the sake of being hot. It's like heaven. I may have mentioned that. I'll forgive you for using the word 'just' in your question.

Just had some on my eggs! Woot, woot! I was so worried that I'd have to lay off the beloved Rooster. Great links: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/sriracha http://theoatmeal.com/quiz/sriracha_addict WARNING! Adult humor!!!!!! Do not click if easily offended!!!!! Do not click and complain about the humor! (I'm 100% addicted, BTW)
  10. How did it go? That's a great NSV!
  11. I can't tell you it's my lower right side, but actual main incision is STILL extremely sore. I called the surgeon's office yesterday, but didn't find out until last night that they called me back (at my home, not my cell...grrrr). I'll talk to them today. You might want to do the same.

Behold the Rooster! I have put it on pureed chili and scrambled eggs already. It's delightful.

    Non-supportive wives?

My wife is certainly supportive in general, but I'll tell you that this process has been harder on her than me. She's very worried that I'll change, that I'll get 'too skinny,' etc. Definitely a weird dynamic. The excellent book 'Emotional First Aid Kit: A Practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery' has a lot about this and more. Strongly suggest it.

3 week Sleevers! How much protein?

70-80 a day. I eat three mushy protein meals (generally 6-8g of protein each), have a 7-8g protein dessert at night (ns/nf pudding with some Isopure mixed in), and do a shake or two.
  15. I know. It's weird. I want to exercise, I generally don't feel hungry, and I generally don't crave food. Who am I???????

Omfg ... They Are Going To Shove...

I was seriously worried about it, but truly, it was no big deal. They put it in when you're under, and as someone mentioned, once you're awake, it's actually a bit of a relief not to have to get up and pee the first day. I had zero problems with pain or discomfort from it.
  17. Keya, the only time of the day I have real hunger is when I wake up! I'm taking Protonix right now, and they want it taken with a teaspoon of applesauce, 30 minutes before anything else. So, I'm in the habit now of waking up to a growling tummy, doing the teaspoons of applesause/Protonix RIGHT AWAY, and head to the shower. Find that the teaspoon makes the stomach shut up (how crazy is that!!!!!), until my shower is over and I can feast on my massive breakfast of 2oz of mushy food. 2013newme, Happy 3-week anniversary! I'm jealous of the exercise, something I never thought I'd say. My doc says, "No exercise that will make you sweat" for 6 weeks. I feel like a blob, since I had been, toward the end of Life 1.0, using the dusty, neglected elliptical downstairs, to good ends! Now that I'm in Life 2.0, I miss it!!!!! But I can't imagine using it now with my one painful incision. I'm having good days and bad. Today was a bad...the plumbing was definitely NOT HAPPY today. But the trendline has been going up!!!! It's funny; my wife is having a harder time of it than I am, I think.
  18. Amazon's prices for it seemed high to me. I got it from netrition.com and had a very fast delivery (but they're also very close to me).
  19. Ordered it yesterday. Got it today. Immediately added it to today's chocolate Isopure shake. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
  20. I got coffee in the hospital as well, on my last day there. I couldn't have it on my pre-op diet, so it was welcome!!!!
  21. I have no restriction on coffee, just can't add cream. But I didn't use cream before, so no big deal. I have about 12 oz a day of coffee.
