  1. NO WAY! I flew 4 1/2 hours home 3 days after surgery and I was SOOOOO miserable. The plane was full, people looked at me like I was an idiot when I got up and walked the isle every 30-45 min. I was in so much pain when the plane finally landed (Back Pain) from sitting. I was so sleepy from taking my pain medicine.. It was awful!! I couldn't imagine flying 10 hours.

Eating Out -- What Do You Eat?

I was still on liquids, chicken broth, apple sauce, Jello o, pudding ALL sugar free of course. At two weeks I was able to go back to regular foods. Just introduce things slowly.

Eating Out -- What Do You Eat?

I eat off my three year olds plate. I am way too cheap to pay for a meal that I can only eat a few bites of. I have actually saved so much money. Before surgery I would eat out almost daily on average ($7.00) a meal... so that's about $50 a week and almost $200 a month back in my pocket. :-) Extra money for those new clothes I'm going to be buying soon and also helps out with Christmas right around the corner.
  4. Who is you doctor??? I flew from Georgia all the way out to Las Vegas to have the sleeve done by Dr. Umbach at Blossom Bariatrics... I paid out of pocket and it saved me $18,000 to have it done in Vegas.. I'm down 35lbs so far. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since I had surgery.

    Why Are We So Embarrassed?

I tell EVERYONE that I had weight loss surgery. All the girls (even guys) at work ask me almost daily how much I have lost and I LOVE the compliments that I'm starting to recieve. However, I have a friend that did not tell anyone except her husband that she was having the sleeve surgery, not even her children. She was afraid that something would go wrong and people would tell her she shouldn't have done it or talk down to her for choosing this journey.

    Gall Stone Pain

For Me.............. I thought I was dying... It started out slow... I would get sick every now and then and as the time would pass it got closer and closer. I would curl up in a ball, unable to eat without gettting sick when it got the worst. In one month I lost 30lbs because all I could eat was a turkey and cheese wrap. I felt chest pain and radiating back pain. It was so similiar to angina that my doctor sent me for a ekg, stress test and ultrasound of my heart.... Thank the good lord all that came back great... Then they chose to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder and they found multiple small stones.. Since my gallbladder removal in 2007 I have done great. Keep in mind though everyone experiences gallbladder pain different. My best friend had her's taken out last year and her pain was nothing as severe as mine...

    4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!

The past couple days my energy has started to pick back up. Sleeved on the 14th of September. I still can only eat about half of a 3oz can of tuna. I made the mistake of trying some fruit and it didn't stay down long at all.... I really have a hard time getting 64oz of fluid in a day. I can normally get in about 34oz so I've got to somehow find a way to get in the other half. I'm glad I went back to work 1 week post op. Yes, I was exhausted and on my lunch break I would have to go to my car and recline the seat and set my alarm on my phone to wake me up haha --- BUT I got back into my old routine and now tomorrow I will be 4 weeks out and I am feeling alot better even from the post I made a few days ago. Maybe, the iron helped :-) However, I've only lost 3lbs this week for some reason. It's kind of discouraging, especially when you aren't able to eat barely anything and you feel like you deserve to lose more weight.... I never knew how bad I was actually addicted to the habit of hand to mouth eating..... until I had this surgery. Now, I can't believe how much I use to eat.... It's really been an eye opening experience.

    4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!

I had the gastric sleeve on September 14th 2012. I tend to be ok when I'm at home, but when I go to work I am absolutely exhasuted. I'm a nurse and I'm on my feet all day long. I find it miserable at times and I just have to go sit down because I feel so weak. I can only eat about 2oz at a time, Water gives me awful heartburn and I am unable to drink Protein shakes without throwing up from the taste. I'm trying to stay hydrated at best as possible. I'm taking a multi-Vitamin, max strength pepcid, d3 2,000 iu and 5,000 mcg of b12. I don't get hungry so I have to force myself to eat throughout the day and I stay thirsty!! ugh.. I just wish I could pop open an ice cold bottle of water and chug the whole thing to quench my thirst. I'm down 32lbs so far and I'm thankful. It's just hard adjusting to.
