Alcohol and 2 weeks post op!

I never will understand why people do something then ask is it ok or not lol! I mean does it even matter at that point? I honestly thought it was a joke because someone else recently had a post just like this. So I'm sorry to the op if she thought I was being rude. It's her life and sleeve she can do whatever she wants. I just think people that took this risk to have the surgery should use common sense not only with this but with anything ...but that's just me.

    Illan pre-op diet?

Here is the pre-op diet... You will need to follow this simple diet for at least one week before your surgery. Some patients with higher BMI’s will be asked to follow for 2 weeks prior to surgery. This is necessary to help shrink the liver and make the surgery easier to perform. • All kinds of liquids • Water, tea, lemon water (take at least 3.5 litters a day) • Fruit juice drinks, natural fruit beverages, chicken stock, yogurt, jello (gelatine desserts). • Same liquids plus one protein shake per day. Please avoid and/or limit salt intake. It will keep the swelling down after surgery. Do not smoke at least one week before your surgery and don’t take aspirin and no coffee. Please do not eat anything on your day of arrival, you will need to fast at least 10hrs prior to surgery. After your surgery we will provide you personalized care, giving attention to identifying your needs and evaluating outcome.

    Waiting....waiting...waiting...BCBS of AL

That's awful. We haven't submitted mine yet. They are planning to do that around the 15th of feb, However I don't have the stupid 3 year weight history they want since i didn't go to the Dr at that time so I am sure i wont get approve. The Dr's office thinks otherwise and will include pictures for those years. Either way I am not getting my hopes up. I plan to just go to MX. March 7th. It's going to cost me 2,000 more going that route but it will keep me from going crazy trying to fight with them lol. Hopefully you will hear something soon!
  20. Aww thanks for taking the time to update us! I loved reading your story. Now get some rest lol!! I'm so glad everything is going great!
  21. Trust me I talk to my kids about EVERYTHING the good, bad and ugly. So everything I would put in my letter would be something they already heard but its on paper and will never be forgotten . Something they can look back and read when they are adults. It's memories just like anything else. Even if I don't write a letter before this surgery I know they have things they will cherish forever. Parents do different things. It's not fair to bash iggy or anyone else because they do something you wouldn't. Btw my kids are 7,13,and 14 so even though my oldest understand more my 7 year old don't really grasp it. She thinks I'm going to come home skinny! Even though we have all told her that's not the case lol
  22. I actually already thought about the letter idea. Yes my kids know I'm having surgery and the risk but I still want them to have that last letter if something did happen! Hell I write them long letters on their birthdays now. I let them read them and then we put them up so they can keep them for memories. I've had many friends that have lost parents and would love to have that last something from their parents. So don't try to bash someone for something you wouldn't do! I am very close to my kids so everything is a open book with us anyways.
