    :-( struggling

Ohhh poor girlie!!! Hugs to you!! Yes... It's normal. I'm 3 months post op and feel amazing!!! ! It was the first 5 days that were the hardest really. You said you feel like nobody in your family understands, which is probably true. It's hard to wrap your head around all the feelings, changes and emotions that your body is going and will continue to go through. Let your family help in ways they can ( making tea, broth, talking walks with you, doing laundry, etc) but for true empathy this is the best place! We all understand what you are going through. Plus like a previous poster said about the hormones being released from the fat- TRUE! So listen to some love sings, watch some sad movies and bust out the Kleenex! It's ok to cry! Sometimes you feel so darn good after crying. You are mourning a loss. Just like a bad breakup. It might hurt in the beginning but when the dust settles you will feel like a better, Stronger healthier person. It WILL get easier!! There will come a time where not only will you appreciate but you will LOVE your sleeve. You got this!!!!

    Anyone disappointed?

I'm delighted with the results!!! Best thing I've ever done! Like a previous poster said " you get what you put in"! I've lost 59 lbs since my surgery on 9/18/12. I've recently started turbo kickboxing, Piyo- ( which is Pilates and yoga) and muscle conditioning. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine taking these classes! And I enjoy them!!!
  13. Yikes!!! Don't do it! I don't think your body will feel up to it. But now is the time you have got to be mentally tough. Just because You can doesn't mean you should. If you start cutting corners right away it sets you up to accept failure! You got this! Treat yourself to 3/4 cup water 1/4 cup diet cranberry over crushed ice with a lime. That is festive

    3 months out what are u eating/break/lunch/dinner

I'm a little under 3 months out- I eat shrimp, scallops, turkey cutlets, swordfish, tuna steaks, miso soup, chicken meatballs, meatless chicken nuggets and meatless meatballs ( made from soy products) low sodium turkey lunch meat wrapped with a thick slice of Swiss cheese with a pickle in the middle, wild game like venison, antelope and buffalo. Does that help?

What To Pack For Kids' Lunches?

I make it pipping hot in the microwave and it usually stays pretty warm for about 4hrs. So that's perfect from packing it to when he is eating the soup.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess: 1- I don't work out as much as I should but on those days I proclaim a mental health day. Sometimes read a book, organize a closet, take kids to the movies ( things I never had the energy to do before) and it feels wonderful! 2- I confess that when Protein Shakes make me gassy and I toot I blame it on the dogs cause human farts shouldn't smell this bad! PU 3- I confess that when people tell me how great I look I want to shout it from the rooftops. Unfortunately I start to wonder if my husband gets sick of me telling him all the compliments. 4- I confess that I purposely booked a trip right before Christmas to a waterpark instead of skiing/sledding ( like we normally do) so I could rock a cute swim suit. The kids don't seem mind. 5- I confess that I don't track calories or food intake but I have consistently lost and have not hit a stall. I'm around 10 weeks out Wishing everyone here an amazing WLS journey! We got this!

    Firefighter

I've been a firefighter for 9 years and had my surgery on 9/18/12. Best thing I've ever done. I took exactly 4 weeks off. I probably could have gone back a little earlier but I'm glad I took the whole 4 weeks. It really helped me learn my eating habits and get into a workout routine. I only told the Chief and my Engineer ( I'm a Lieutenant). Both have been very supportive. I did decide that if anyone was to flat out ask me I would tell them. However nobody has asked me. They have seen my drastic eating changes ( I bring my own food or else I cook healthy for everyone on shift). They see me measuring portions and reading labels. They see me tracking calories burned and Water drank. A few of them have started to work out with me- which is way more fun. I wouldn't lie to them but say to them what you are comfortable with. You can message me with any questions or comments! Best wishes for an amazing journey Side note*** I did my first ever turbo kickboxing class today! I was on cloud 9! Can't believe how great I feel!
