  1. Sorry to hear about your experience :S at least from a surgical point of view things went well! I wonder if the patient service varies as a result of patient load at the time. I've been told that my surgeons limit it to 4-5 surgeries a day....which seems like kind of a lot lol! So far working with Ronda from a lighter me has been great. Wishing you all the best for your recovery and weight loss journey! keep us updated!
  2. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I also am booked with Dr.Lopez & Dr. Osuna through Ronda and A Lighter Me. My mom and I are going for surgery mid December in TJ, Mexico. We will also be staying at the Marriott and our hospital will be Mi Doctor too! ....Although we are paying ~$250 more than you did (the prices seem to fluctuate on a monthly basis?!) So excited and so nervous as this day approaches. Its nice to read about someone at the same starting weight as I am, sometimes I feel maybe it's too low to consider surgery, but I can never seem to jump that 200 mark and keep it of on my own. Reading your experience really puts my mind at ease about what's to come! Plus, knowing that I need to be extra cautious with bending/twisting afterwards is great advice that I wouldn't have known the repercussions of before reading this. I'm sorry for the allergy scare that you had to go through there, and I hope that you recover from your tear quickly so you can get back to your family
  3. )Sorry for the late reply! I've decided not to work the 3 night shifts prior to my surgery. My body already doesn't handle the labour work very well on nights, and if you got light headed stacking wood, I can only imagine I'd be near the same at work! Plus I work alone and no one would know if I passed out lol! I've been told to do the liquid diet 7-14 days prior to surgery, with just the last 3 days being the clear liquid diet. My surgery is not until dec 13 2012, but it is creeping up quickly! Just want to be sure I know what to expect thanks for your help Cinders!
  4. As of today I am officially booked for surgery with Dr.Lopez in TJ in December! I do physical labour at a coal mine and work 12 hour shifts(14 hour days with travel). I am concerned about the pre-op diet and my job as I will be working right up until the day before I leave for TJ. Has anyone else that works in labour positions had any trouble with energy, passing out, etc. as a result of labour work during the pre-op diet, especially the 3 liquid diet days?
  5. Thank you for your replies! the protein shakes, salad and lean meat seem okay. I'm just concerned about the 3 day liquid diet that will land on my night shifts! I haven't received pre-op diet information yet, but I did read that the length of the diet depends on how high your BMI is. What sorts of things can you have on the liquid diet?

  7. Hello all, I'm trying to book with Dr Lopez and I've been contacted by someone named Ron an then called today by a 'Nathan'. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with these names from 'Mexico Bariatric Centre'? Don't want to be sending money if its not legit!!
