Hi all! I was just wondering what phone service if any is best to stay in contact with family and friends back home? I am heading to Mexico on November 18 and really want to have a way for my kids to contact me and my husband directly if they wanted to. And I would feel better knowing we have that line back home too. Thanks for the help in this!!

Phones In Mexico
ready4newme replied to ready4newme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am heading to Tijuana on the 18ty and they have 800 number to call but I'm not sure if it's in the room or one to share with other patients or what. I have emailed my dr but haven't gotten a response yet. I too am thinking about putting something on my plan now through Verizon but don't want it to be something permanent. I guess I will go in and talk to them tomorrow. Thanks everyone! -
November Vs Mexico Date Roll
ready4newme replied to freespirit63's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
November 19 in Tijuana with Dr. Lopez already booked flights and hubby and I both already had passports so all that's left is getting on the plane and starting this journey! -
And about pre op I forgot to include they e-mailed me a packet that's pretty basic but it's done in steps so I think it will be fairly easy to stick with for the short amount of time I need to. I start on November 1 with 2 protein shakes (at least 15 grams of protein per serving) 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch and a salad with no or low fat dressing (in extremely small amount) with a protein on the salad. I can have another protein shake in the evening if needed. Then 3 days before surgery I start taking a laxative and will start a clear liquid only diet. And that's it. Go for surgery and follow the post op part of the diet.

Sorry I haven't been on had things going on with my boys and their sports lol but no not a high BMI I am self pay and know someone who used him so I was able to get first hand info on the process. Of course I expect mine to be a little different since I am not her lol. And I will share my experience as well. I do plan on documenting my journey so I can look back and see just how far I have come.

November 19 -
I am booked with him for November 19. The decision was easy when it's all been positive about him. In still a little nervous but ready for the next step in my life. And since we will be in Tijuana for thanksgiving we celebrated yesterday so I could have the fried turkey once more lol about to start my pre op diet so nothing will stop me from moving forward. My husband is going along with me and I think he is more nervous than I am.

Need More Info On Dr. Victor Gonzalez In Dallas
ready4newme posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please help! I am self pay and have been researching for over a year. I am comfortable going to Mexico but hubby and other family are not so happy about it so I am looking into affordable options closer to home. My question is has anyone been sleeved by Dr. Victor Gonzalez around Dallas Texas recently and what was your experience? All the info I can find is at least a year old and would like to find something out more recently. Thanks for all the help!
