  1. Hi Everyone, Its been awhile.. My surgery was performed on May 29. Post-surgery I was 209 pounds. I am now 172 pounds. I had my first fill on July 12. I thought that the fill would keep me from eating as much.. but I am eating... whats wrong with me? Am I being too gready.. I am really frustrated and becoming depressed by this whole thing and need some feedback from someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong.. I am in desperate need of some advice on what to do! I am scheduled to see my surgeon on August 3rd.. :help:

    Brooklyn, NY Whatup?

Hi Fatboyslim! I'm from NY also, but my surgery was performed by Dr. Roslin at Lenox Hill Hospital. NO complications. It went beautifully! Nice to hear from my NY folks!
  6. I was banded on May 29 and felt the same way.. I had to call up my close friends and family and talk to them about how I was feeling. I agree with everyone about the medicine. It keeps you on a low.. You will get through this. Keep posting to us. We are here for you! We are all in this together. I am rooting for you, and I know by next week- or maybe in a few days you will send us an e-mail with a smiley face. Stay strong!
  7. Hello everyone, I had surgery performed on May 29. I feel... okay, but my stomache is bloated, and the gas pain is unbearable at times. Does anyone have any advice for me? When does the bloating and gas pain go away? I look like someone who is 7 months pregnant :phanvan Help!!! Is there anyting that I can drink or eat for the gas? BTW... I am not hungry at all.
  8. Thank you so much to all of you. Everything that was posted is exactly how I'm feeling. The shoulder pain, not able to stand up straight- all symptoms that I have. Mickey I tried the heat pads and it helped!! Woohoo! I was letting it out (sorry for being so informative). I will also try the perpermint tea the the walking on all four.. interesting! Thanks everyone!

  10. Thanks Mdari! I am so sore, and I can't seem to eat anything.. I know I have to eat but the gas pain makes eating uncomfortable. The only food that I can "tolerate" is sugar free jello... Any suggestions? by the way-- what kind of protein shake are you drinking?

    Aetna PPO

I never had to get a personal trainer to get approval. I need to see a nutritionist, psych, and also my PCP every month. That was it.

  15. Alexandra, You seem like an expert on this, and I respect the advice that you have given to others thus far. My BMI is 38, and was diagnosed earlier this year with Asthma, then Sleep apnea. I also suffer from acid reflux, and dizzy spells. I have Aetna EPO, and they suggest that I have a BMI of 40 or a BMI higher than 35 between 40 w/ comorbidities. Any suggestions? My doctor submitted my pre-cert on May 4th. I am really nervous about this. I'm from New York by the way
  16. Hi Passiton! Did you have any co-morbidities with your BMI. I know that they would prefer a BMI of 40, but they willl approve your surgery if you have the required comorbidities. Hopefully your appeal turns out positive. Please keep me posted. My BMI is 38 and I have sleep apnea, Asthma,Acide reflux, etc... now I'm worried. I have Aetna EPO.

Oh my goodness now I'm panicking! I have Aetna EPO and submitted to my insurance company last week after a 3 month supervised diet. I have a BMI of 38, sleep apnea, acid reflux, and over 5 years worth of documents from my PCP with my continued yo-yo dieting... I hope I'm approved??? What does everyone else think? Please help!
  20. Hello everyone, I am new to this. I have Aetna EPO and my doctors office submitted my paperwork last Wednesday. My BMI is 38 5'1" with comorbidities- Sleep apnea, Asthma, Acid reflux, etc. What do you guys think- do you think I've got a shot in getting approved. I'm from NY by the way

I am hopefully having surgery with Dr. Rosling in Manhattan, NY. My surgery date is not confirmed until we hear back from my insurance company Aetna EPO. Does anyone know how long it will take? I am so nervous.
