    Not Full From Greek Yogurt?

From what I understand, the object is never to feel full, just satisfied. If you eat until you feel full, you are eating too much.

    Not Full From Greek Yogurt?

You don't have to have a prescription. Prevacid and Prilosec are both PPIs

    How Often?

    5x
  4. I can eat almost two boiled egg whites. Not sure if that feels the same as scrambled in the stomach
  5. I'm 8 weeks out and have not vomited yet, nor do I think I've been close to it. One time I ate 1/4th of a creme brulee and felt extremely sick from so much sugar and fat. Last weekend I ate a nickle sized piece of the crust from some fish and chips batter and think that is why I didn't feel that great after. I'm just wondering if I can expect this type of episode to possibly happen in the future. That's what I was wondering about when I asked if it had happened before. I really hate vomiting!
  6. Has anything like that happened to you before? Have you thrown up at any other time since your surgery?

    Periods

This has been my last few days!! Yesterday was ridiculous. I was fine with my shake at breakfast and couldn't even finish it. Then had a yogurt at lunch and everything was good. Then I got home and ....wow. I had a popsicle, a sugar free Jello, some Goldfish crackers and a drink before I got myself together. Which didn't last long.... Then I had a sugar free hot chocolate, then a few more crackers, then I had some wonton soup and ate the whole thing! Craziness.

    Help...dont Eat

Just because you have been cleared to eat anything doesn't mean you have to do it, or rush it. Take your time. Introduce foods slowly. Nobody says you have to eat a Subway sandwich instead of drinking a protein shake or having cottage cheese. Your body may just be telling you its not ready to jump into the deep end.

    Solid Food And Pain

Week 2 - Week 4 or 5 were not easy at all. I had bouts of depression, mourning food, guilt, self blame, fear, panic .... on and on. It was much more emotional than I would ever have imagined. I had some butt kicking talks with myself and some pep talks, too. Taking a walk at the park always helped. I did do some tiny cheats along the way. A few Goldfish crackers, a taste of some pie, but nothing crazy. Keeping up with my food in myfitnesspal.com helped me a lot. It DOES get a lot better. A whole lot. And make sure you are taking your PPI and drinking enough liquid. I can't stand drinking Water so I drink a lot of hot tea and sugar free drink mixes.
  12. I lost 4 lbs before surgery, but I wasn't on a liquid diet or any pre-surgery diet. My surgeon's nurse just scared me to death when she said I had better not gain weight because it would really tick my doctor off. I lost 4 lbs while at the same time doing a last hurrah for two weeks of eating ice cream, sushi, Indian food, etc.
  13. 8 weeks for me. Some go 12. Some far less. Healing is of primary importance. My surgeon told me that at 8 weeks out, your stomach is only back to 50% of its normal, healthy strength or wellness. You don't want to compromise that. I'm still not eating salad, fresh fruit or vegetables, steak, corn, rice, spicy foods...anything that is very dense or hard. If it is softish then I try a little taste to see if it is going to be ok.
  14. I'm 8 weeks out and I still eat a lot of soup, often with no (or very little) of the solid stuff. Especially when I am traveling for work or at a business lunch, I know I can always order soup and it won't wreck my diet, won't cause stomach issues, and I am getting in some extra fluids that my body is sure to appreciate. I would never have made soup a regular part of my food choices before the sleeve. Now I eat it all of the time and love it.

    Solid Food And Pain

Also, some of the things you enjoyed before may not be so great from now on. I have read about a LOT of people not being able to tolerate bread anymore.

    Why Lie?!?!

Why should I feel obligated to tell you? Why should you feel entitled to ask? It is my choice, not yours, what I elect to explain about my private life. I don't have "secrets." I have privacy. And that is my right. I did have someone ask me yesterday why I was not eating the pre-Thanksgiving Breakfast that was served at work. I said it was not on my nutritional plan. They then asked what I was doing to lose weight. I told them that I eat Protein first and exercise. That is truthful. Should I then launch into a detailed disclosure of everything that I did/do and why? Hell no.

    Thanksgiving Day Challenge

My goal for tomorrow morning was 178 (my challenge was to lose 11 lbs). I just weighed in at 179 this morning. I won't have my scale when I go to my father's house for Thanksgiving day. ....so I really won't exactly know what I will weigh tomorrow. I don't define my success or failure by that one pound. I lost (weight) so I won!

    I Was Starving Today!

I ate like I had lost my mind today after I got home from work. I know it is pre menstrual, but still... I usually eat around 500 cals a day. Today it was more like 650. Little bits add up
  19. Drink a lot of water after! The doc will do bloodwork right before surgery to see if anything looks odd.

    Munchie Help Needed

Are you actually hungry? If not then it is head hunger and acknowledge it as such. I relate to stress at home and work. I am a senior director at work and I am also working on my doctorate. If I'm hungry, I eat a meal or snack. If not, I don't eat. I keep a quote from my doctor handy in my mind for times like that. "What happens if you get hungry?" ......"Nothing" Nothing happens. You are just hungry. It doesn't mean you have to eat, especially if you have just eaten recently. Munching during the day for stress or entertainment or to get just a taste of something begins a slippery slope that leads straight down hill. If you are stressed, find other ways to manage it instead of eating. Join group exercise, take a walk, have a bubble bath, drink hot tea, try yoga or meditation, get a massage, call a friend, write a letter, just don't get back into the habit of eating when you are not actually hungry, or eating at times that aren't designated as your meal times.

    Frozen Yogurt?

Haha!! I guess that's safer. I think just about everyone here has many lessons to share. We do learn from mistakes! (hopefully)

    Frozen Yogurt?

I had some yummy sugar free frozen yogurt from a local yogurt place around my 3rd week and I was so happy .............. until it occurred to me to really check the nutritional information. I was very disappointed that it had such little protein and so many carbs. Sure it tasted really good, but I'll be saving that treat until I am on maintenance.
