  1. Same here. I had to lose 40 lbs before even a (very) few people noticed. I guess it will take 20 more or so before others notice. Its ok. I don't talk about how much I've lost.

Not able to stop loosing weight ?

I can't agree completely. Photos of anorexics in the hospital show that eventually your body will eat muscles and steal from organs and strip bones to survive. I do believe that a person has a "set point" that, based on average calories consumed and exercise habits, will tend to stabilize. You can also reset your set point by changing behaviors.

    Sweet Taste

I think of mine as more of a metallic taste. It may be gross to some but it makes me happy when my mouth tastes like I've been sucking on coins. Then I know I'm in ketosis.

    Sweet Tooth Help!

Those taste ok but aren't low calorie and they also give some people gas and diarrhea, especially if they eat several.

    Sweet Tooth Help!

The sleeve is a tool, not a magic wand. Head hunger is a challenge you will need to address without caving in to cravings. Show yourself some tough love. One option is to cut out sugar period. Another is to indulge, but only with low fat, sugar free options. Then there is that other choice to just eat chocolate when you want to. But if you elect to do that then why bother with a sleeve? Just be obese. You won't find many enablers here. You will find a lot of people going through the same thing and who will support your efforts towards better health.

    I Need Food!

I was always curious about this produce, but for some very strange reason they do not ship to certain states.

    I Need Food!

Nothing to do but to keep faithful to your nutritional plan. This part will go by quickly and you'll be moving to the next stage in no time. In the meantime, read a book, give yourself a pedicure, work a crossword puzzle, call an old friend, do a watercolor, clean the windows, ...you get the idea. Its tough, no doubt. We all have to do it.
  9. I love how they taste with lots of mustard, but they are so full of sulfites that I don't even eat the turkey ones that are 40 calories each anymore.
  10. Very cool that you spoke to your kids about it.

    Seriously On Cloud 9

I love to hear this and can almost feel the joy. It takes a lot of difficult days to get to the point that you are now. Enjoy every single second of it and I hope it spills over into the rest of your week and weekend!

    Period During Sugery

Yep. This has been covered in the forums many times. I think that OPs may not be tagging their posts with keywords. Same happened to me. I started about two hours before surgery. Just let them know.
  13. How flattering!!! Certainly something to think about first. I'm 44 and my boyfriend was 30 when we met. It is probably the sweetest, healthiest relationship I've been in. (The whole 7 months so far.)

I Need A Kick In The A** -- Any Takers?

Have you started training for a half marathon yet?

    Constant Grazing...is It A Problem?

Establish your meal and snack times - 5 - 6 daily, and don't eat between. We are conditioned to feel like it is some horrible fate to feel hunger. It isn't. We just aren't accustomed to it. Hungry between meals/snacks? It's ok. Feel hungry. Desensitize yourself to it. Drink something. Get busy. Nothing bad is going to happen to you because you feel hunger.

Eyes Way To Big Still !

I am in the car traveling for work a lot too. I have gone through the McDonald's drive through for their yogurt parfait, which is under 200 calories. I also stop by convenience stores and get a Muscle Milk Light if they have one. As a stand-by, I always keep a few sample Protein powder packets and a mixing cup with the mixing ball in my car. I can stop at the convenience store and get Water and ice, then mix a Protein shake on the go. You can also carry Ostrim with you in your car. High protein, low fat, not too many calories.
  17. Mine weren't quite as "angry" as yours, but I did need to use antibacterial ointment on a few of them and they got better very quickly.

    Surgeon Says No To Surgery.

There is a very real period of depression that happens for many of us after surgery. Your surgeon is acting with an abundance of caution, but is also probably truly concerned for your health and is being true to the spirit of the oath she took when she began practicing medicine. You may want to talk to your psychiatrist again. I know of someone who was on anxiety/depression meds and even with those had a horrible experience with severe depression a few weeks after surgery. It may be different for different people.
  19. 3 sausage balls at a little holiday party and I was in the bathroom for almost an hour. But not from throwing up. I really haven't vomited nor had the slimes. When I get sick it is with severe abdominal cramping, gas, and sometimes I also actually have a poo.
  20. You will be eating calories below your BMR, which is what it takes for blood to flow, heart to pump, brain to function, cellular repair, your bladder to work, etc. Protein is more important now than ever. We are traveling a fine line living in starvation mode. Your body is going to burn everything it can to "survive." Do you want to burn fat and possibly a little muscle, or do you want your body to steal from blood, tissue and bone?
  21. How much and what kind of fat was in the brownie? My surgeon told me it wasn't the sugar so much as the fat that gets you for bad reactions.

    Coffee

I have one cup every morning of half-caf with probably 2T of 1% milk. On Saturday mornings, if it is a sleep in day, I might have 2 cups. I have a Keurig and I have found one brand of half-caf that is pretty darn good.

    Nsv..

NSV this morning. I took off my "big girl" panties and threw them away, along with several other pair. It was weird because I was thinking (for the last 20lbs) that I could still get some use out of them. But there comes a point when you just have to let go. Thankfully I had others in a smaller size that I haven't been able to wear in a while. Yay for goodbye to huge panties!! haha

    Where?

This has really never entered my mind. I'm curious if it is a significant risk for emergency services.
