I had nonrefundable tickets to Napa/Sonoma with friends that hit 5 weeks post op. Yes, I had wine tastings, several. Not the best idea but neither was it horrible. food was a much bigger problem since I was on soft foods at that point. Lots of Soup. I'm 17 months out and enjoy wine and beer whenever I like. 3 lbs from goal. -

600 Lbs - "but Sometimes I Feel So Hungry"
delta_girl posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow. I just stumbled across this and watched the videos. Serious wake up call. There is no amount of fussing and crying, no feeling sorry for yourself and cheating, no skipping exercise, no grazing, no lying, no self decption that gets past the reality of the consequences of addiction to food. Dominique Lanoise, a 600-pound food addict, remains trapped in her bedroom -- and desperate to lose weight. TLC reports on her story at 9 p.m. Wednesday in “600-Pound Mom: Race Against Time.” http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/12/05/600-pound-woman-desperate-to-lose-weight-walk-again/?intcmp=features- 3 replies

No. My post was edited in another thread.

I got a black eye for using the "N" word. Arbritary, capricious. Decide how to moderate and be consistent, please.
-
Going through the same thing, just long term relationship and not marriage.
-
I can take a not so subtle hint. Unwelcome and not one of the pack.
-
I never binge. And the "offensive" word/ connotation I used was a very common term used in these forums months ago in reference to intolerance and idealistic practices.
-
Vilified and shunned. Too diverse from the more pc dialogue. I'm actually surprised by this statement.
-
I did not think that I had deviated from the topic and it was not meant to be offensive, just one perspective. When I say I eat what I want, it is in moderation. I did not intend to be insulting. Just sharing my thoughts. Yes, I did read the thread. I said I don't come to the forum much anymore. There is a whole new, incredibly wonderful world out there. And just because I don't only say things that are safe that the majority here might agree with does not mean that it does not have value, that I am ignorant or evil.
-
I almost never read these forums anymore. They are tedious and repetitive and full of misinformation. I am a few weeks from a year out and will post some pics at that point. I totally agree with my surgeon that most if what is posted is hearsay. I drink beer, I drink wine, I eat anything I want. I don't always exercise. I taste desserts, dips, donuts, etc. I'm down about 85 lbs and continue to lose weight, though it has slowed. I have no fears of regain. My overall habits are very healthy now. I wear a size 6-8 and don't feel the need to be a size 0 or 2. Skin is an issue enough now. Chill out.

I'm down 77lbs and an old problem has returned with a vengeance. Just a little bit of background on the situation. Around 2002 I was having a lot of back problems, specifically on the left side under or next to my shoulder blade. It was agonizing. I don't know if it was due to having large, dense breasts and the weight of my breasts was causing the problem, if I had a pinched nerve, if any of it might have been caused by tissue damage from when I had Shingles in that horizontal band of lymph nodes. My OBGYN would give me shots of Xylocane, which would provide relief for a week or two. Then I would go back for another and another, etc. At that time I weighed around 160-170 lbs. I gained a lot of weight in the following months and the problem was not as severe. That is also about the time I moved to another state and gained a lot more weight. Having large breasts has always caused periods of discomfort. When I exercise I have to wear two or three sports bras at once to provide enough support. I don't know if this is related either, but I am always wound up or "wired" very tightly. I do not relax. I have a very stressful leadership position, and I'm always going back to school for another degree in something. It could be stress related. To get more specifically to the point, I have had a LOT of back pain since I've lost the total of 77 lbs since my pre-surgery date. My breasts have not changed in cup size, but my torso has. Before I wore underwire bras with a 44" measurement around and now I'm either 36 0r 38". I just started wearing some old bras that I already had that were about that size. There is no more protruding stomach to help hold all of that up. I have gone to a massage therapist, who was confused as to why she could not work the tension out of my back. I carry around tennis balls to place against a wall and try to lean against it to work out the knots. I saw my GP this week and discussed this with him and if he thought that a breast reduction would be a viable option. I discussed all of previously related history with him. He prescribed to muscle relaxing related medications for the next 6 weeks to see if that would help me to relax more and he said we could discuss it at my follow-up appointment, but that breast reduction was "big" surgery. After that appointment I went to the mall to see if purchasing a new bra would help. Nothing at Victoria's Secret fit so I went to Cacique (a Lane Bryant related store) and my current bra size is a 38F cup. I'm only 5'3" and that just seems huge. Right now I weigh 144lbs and am about 8 months out with the desire to lose another 10-15 lbs. Apparently, for insurance to pay for breast reduction, the pain should be in the upper shoulder area. Anyone have any experience with a similar problem or know someone who has?
-
I'm a 36f now and no dr will approve a reduction. I'm 5'3 and 145lbs. I guess it must look "right" on my frame. I was told to work with weights to strengthen my back.

Follow your surgeon's advice. He or she has pretty much probably seen it all. With that said, I am 8-9 months out and drink red wine and my surgeon approves of it in moderation. -
The problem is, for insurance to cover it, I need the approval and recommendation of a doctor. My GP is not very gung ho about it at all.

A lot has to do with breast tissue density, which is a characteristic that varies significantly. If your breast density is high, you will lose less weight in your breasts than if it is lower. Basically, the ratio of breast tissue to fat. After 77 lbs gone, I went from a very full 44 DD or EE to a regular (not full) 36 DD. I'm considering a reduction.
