At 4 weeks out you are still healing. I can recall a few times that I was scared to death because I could eat more than I thought I should somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks. That changed. I'm almost 5 months out now and I eat less than I did earlier on. Don't panic. Measure your food and pay very close attention to how you feel when you eat. Getting "full" is not the goal. Just eat until you are satisfied. You never need to get full again. That is not a beneficial sensation.

delta_girl replied to RareGold3000's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a little late reporting my results. My goal was 151. I had a freaking 4 week stall!!!! So my weigh in for Vday was 156 lbs. I did still loose, but nothing like I have in the past. But ..its ok!!! I feel amazing and am very happy. Looking forward to the next challenge. -
What has been your worst calorie day?
delta_girl replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm not that high at 5 months. I may.....may have 1 day a week like that, but my typical is probably still around 600. Sometimes 500, sometimes 800 -
What has been your worst calorie day?
delta_girl replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm almost 5 months out. I was formerly very good about entering everything in Myfitnesspal, but I have slacked off for many weeks. However, I still track calories and intake more or less for myself personally.....after being on 20 zillion diets I pretty much know how to track my calories, almost by memory. If not, I look something up. But anyway...my highest calorie day so far was around 1,200. I think I've done that twice, and both of those times were right before my TOM. -
Why am i not losing weight
delta_girl replied to goldielox666's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really hadn't thought about dangers of it. I didn't realize it was fat soluble and is stored. I've been taking high doses for about 2 weeks now (6,000 IU). Not sure if that qualifies for "high." As it did with you, it made an enormous difference in how I felt. I couldn't believe it. It did take about a week to feel the effects. And it took about a week before weight started dropping again. -
This hasn't worked for me. I get a monthly B12 shot and I take a Multivitamin with Bs every day. I shed like a pine tree.

Why am i not losing weight

I was stalled for 5 weeks. It can be very, very frustrating. I started taking mega doses of vitamin d3 and I'm back on track. -

Gladuator protein powder
delta_girl replied to vcarrick's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
That is true. If you go in to Smoothie King to order a Gladiator, you can get it with no fruit added for a lower calorie count (and get the small). If you add anything it will seriously bump up the calories. I have tried the vanilla with nothing added and it tasted like a very average protein powder that I can mix at home. -
Do you still throw up lwith the sleeve?
delta_girl replied to MelissaGG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't thrown up yet and I'm almost 5 months out. I only had one episode that was rough and that was when I ate 1/2 of a creme brulee at 5 weeks out. I didn't throw that up, but it was far too rich and it made me feel incredibly sick. You really shouldn't be throwing up with the sleeve. If you do, something is seriously not right about what you are eating, how much you are eating or a surgical complication. -
Actually, my surgeon does not support this definition. It allows the surgeon to have a point of reference and to see inside of the stomach. They can stitch very close, or loosely from the bougie. The actual difference in the size of the pouch is negligible. More significant would be the size and shape of our stomachs in the first place. Our anatomy has variety and not all of our stomachs are the same dimensions.

Do a search on "alcohol" up top. It is a frequently debated topic.

You had your surgery one month after I had mine and you've lost more than I have. (OP)

1 year out-those pesky last 20 lbs-Vegetarian diet
delta_girl replied to Joiebean's topic in Food and Nutrition
I've never heard that about Iron supplements. I take one daily per my surgeon's directions. There have been some very interesting threads and comments here lately about D3, too. (Relating to weight loss.) -

I'm a middle aged widow of almost two years now and wouldn't know where to begin with flirting. My figure finally started to come back with 62 lbs gone and I have 30 lbs to go to get to my doctor's goal for me. I do look younger than my age, but probably not as much as before since the more I lose the more wrinkles emerge. I've gotten a little bit of attention lately from men my age and much younger men. It really makes me feel uncomfortable. I have no idea how to respond so I pretend I don't notice it. Not sure if this will ever change or not for me.

Eat Greek Yogurt, soft cheese, lunch meat, kefir, At 4 weeks - 6 weeks I was slow to add food, too. Sometimes a shake just felt better. I doubt anyone is going to crucify you if you have a few more shakes at this point. Let your stomach tell you what it likes and add food in slowly.

I wasn't cleared for fresh fruits and vegetables until 12 weeks. Anything that was cooked until it was soft and I chewed well was ok after 8 weeks. I recall cooking a butternut squash in the oven that was to die for...so soft and warm and delicious.

I've never had trouble with celery at all. I do have a lot of trouble with the pulp of citrus fruit. It gets stuck immediately. -

Extreme fatigue-is it my age?
delta_girl replied to DebLW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just having had major surgery, your body has just started to heal. It takes a lot of energy to heal. You may also need to take an Iron supplement. -
