my story, well i guess its not much different the rest of you, been overweight for over 30 years now, tried all the diets, did well then after usually a 40 pound loss, i just give up, a wall goes up and i go back eating and gain even more. i alwas curse my parents now for saying......eat everything on your plate....or no desert. my children are grown now and i,m seperated, so its time to take care of me. i have did alot of research on this and trying to find a Doctor was the hard part, so many deals out there, but how good are they? like i was told ....lo barato sale caro.... which means the "cheap things are expensive in the end". i finally came back too the dr i first had considered. my friend had had her gastric sleeve done by him and was so impressed, she said she was treated like a queen. i am dealing with placidway and maria they are just so great, just have to love that woman, even my friend that dealt with her told me to say hi to her and she also thought she was great. so now i,m waiting to see if i get my financing, as i,m from canada and we don,t get covered for this surgery. i will be glad to have this done and have this great tool to help me find myself again, i,m sure it will be much easier with some fat off my bones. 12 days ago i took all the food out of my house, i only have ensure, broth, sugarfree popsicles, crystal lite, protein powder and sugar free jello. i have lost 16 pounds by doing this, my thoughts are if its not there, i can,t eat it. i am lucky that i live alone and can do that. i will upgrade this as everything progresses...........................saddie..........ps, a good way to check dr,s out is go to your browser, put, bad reviews and then the dr name, you will be surprised by some of them............
its nov 8th now and heading for my surgery on the 13th, on the 10th i start my clear liquids and just plain yogurt, yeak, but i will do it. have been following other pre op on here and have lost 26 pounds in 3 weeks, mind you i have cheated abit, but come sat, no more cheating. i will stick solid to my 3 day pre op. i,m very nervous and know i,m going to awake from surgery saying.....what the hell did i do........but i,m told it does get better. at least with this website i now will not be going in blindly. i,m so glad i found this forum. will keep this updated........saddie
