Just made a protein shake that doesn't taste like one!
Leleboo replied to Im14fun's topic in Food and Nutrition
I freeze my banana chunks and add them to 8 oz of Lactaid and a scoop of nectar chocolate Truffle and blend it in my mini blender and it comes out thick like a milk shake. -
Put Protein Powder in everything you drink and eat.

Does It Really Take 6 months Before You Have your surgury
Leleboo replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I have Blue Care Network and I began the whole process June 27, 2012 and I had my surgery March 28, 2013 at U of M. Once you finish your 6 months you may still have to wait to be scheduled for surgery - once I completed my 6 months I had to wait 2 more months. -
-
I don't know mine were always normal before the surgery.
-
I was told a year.

Oh let me tell you I had surgery March 18th 2013 and I was due for my period and it did not come, so by May 18th I had light spotting and then nothing until July 25th. I was soaking through super plus tampons every 1-2 hours I even had to add an overnight pad. This went on for two whole days and now my flow is back to normal. I did some research and apparently when you don't shed the lining it overgrows and builds up and it has to come out some time. I have even read on here where some women have there period continuously for 3 or more weeks after surgery.

I use frozen fruit that way my shakes are thick without adding ice.

Mishaps in the past 6 months
Leleboo commented on LifetimeLoser's blog entry in LifetimeLoser's Blog
Are those protein milkshakes that you are drinking? Because for about two months after surgery I was lactose intolerant, but I'm back to normal now. -
I mix mine with milk and sometimes I put it in hot coffee as well as cold coffee. I have tried the Click and the Big Train they taste good also but Big Train has more carbs than nectar.

ShanRN that's not messed up at all! I have shoulder length hair and I was sleeved March 18, 2013 and I am losing hair daily and I usually get in 70 grams of Protein or more.. I try to not let it worry me but it does. Lately my hair has been very tangled after washing it and I can barely comb through it - I am going to get a touch up this Wednesday and If the touch up doesn't help with the tangles I'm thinking that I have two choices - cut it off or braids. I didn't want to cut it because I cut it really short last summer and just grew it out. When I have to detangle it after washing it I lose a handful of hair every time!

Protein Shake = Diarrhea
Leleboo replied to HeatherRad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey HeatherRad even when I mix the unjury with the Lactaid milk I still get diarrhea that's why I started using the Lactaid pills. -
The pain meds they gave me made me itch and they gave me Benadryl in the hospital.
-
It shouldn't, what does your insurance say? Mine said that I should be on a diet that would allow me to lose 1-2 lbs a week.

I was sleeved March 18th and have been taking pills since the second day in the hospital. You can take them if they don't cause you any discomfort. -

You can use Lactaid Pills to keep the diarrhea away. -

No don't do it! You need time to heal. I felt fine in the hospital but felt sore once I was at home healing. I also discovered that I had become lactose intolerant.
