Why would a Texas doctor know a referral for a Atlanta doctor? And doctor's offices by law have an amount of time legally they have to get records to another doctors office. Of course they will get the records to them in the amount of time they are legally supposed to get them or maybe even before then.

The sleeve can stretch if you drink carbonation often or overeat every meal. I've seen it happen. Not with me but a friend. Sleeves don't break.

Unfortantly an exclusion is an exclusion. Insurance wont pay for it if theres an exclusion. Maybe you can find a good cash price. Where are you located?

I go in Thursday to get the Bariatric Bible. I am definitely going to take advantage of the support tools KBI offers including the Facebook Group. Do I have to wait until after surgery to join?

Congrats to making a great decision! I too used KBI and Dr Kim did my surgery. The liquid diet is strict but there's a reason why. Just don't cheat. Follow the information you were given in our Bariatric "Bible" and you will reach your goals. I ate lots of jello and stuck with 4-5 shakes a day along with the popcisles and broth. I think blending your shakes up with ice helps much more than just a shaker cup. This is only 1 time in your life that you have to do this, so think of it that way. It will be worth it all in the end I promise. Just never give up As far as dreams yes i have weird dreams all the time. Hang in there, take one day at a time. Hope you don't get a large bill from them after your HH discount program. Insurances aren't paying for the HH repair anymore especially if you have an exclusion on your policy. They have found out bariatric surgery is being done at the same time.

The reason why you do a 3 week liquid diet, week 4 then go in pureed, then week 5 soft foods, the normal foods is so your stomach can heal on the inside. You just had surgery and you are not doing what you have been taught. Eating food too soon can cause a leak or get caught in the staple line and cause a serious infection then you would have to be put on a feeding tube. Food at this point is not worth it. Thanks yes I exercise like a mad woman with cardio 30-60 min a day and weight lifiting. Bad habits seems to creep back in. I should plan meals better and I tend to grab the fastest thing which isn't always the healthiest.

Hi, 4 + years out peeps, I have been able to maintain my 90 lbs loss, but here lately its gradually going up. Anyone else having this issue? Have you tried any other diets to help you loose? Sad to say I've been thinking about diet pills again. I still would like to loose another 50 lbs and at this point it seems impossible!

Hi, I see your a KBI patient, they require their protein shakes prior to surgery, as well as a cup of low sodium broth each day, sugar free popcicles, sugar free jello, propel, and lost of water and work on getting off the caffene. You will learn all of this in your pre-op class. After surgery you can use any protein shake as long as it meets the protein, sugar, calorie ratio. Good luck!

Believe what you want to believe. Carbonation can screw a sleeve up. The pictures are real. I really don't care if you believe it or not. I know for fact they are real. I was in the office with her when it happened. If this is true, the surgeon who did her original surgery screwed the pooch. There shouldn't be enough fundus left to stretch, much less back to the size of the original stomach. She should seek legal counsel.

I personally have a friend that had the sleeve and started drinking sodas again. She noticed she could eat alot more and got nervous. She went to her bariatric doctor and did a barium swallow test, sure enough her sleeve was stretched to the size it was before surgery. Ever wonder what carbonation does to our sleeved tummies? I used Dr Kim 4 years ago. 90 pound lost and keeping it off and I feel like its due to the amazing after care support KBI offers! Dr Kim is awesome, the staff has always been very helpful. That is an impossible claim. Anything has the possibility of leaking. It may reduce the chances but nothing can be guaranteed 100%.

I understand your concern. Dr Kim did my sleeve 4 years ago. One thing I know about him is he is VERY thorough prior to surgery. He requires all patients to do cardiac testing and if you have a family history of heart problems he will make you see a cardiologist. If he feels you need a sleep study he will require it. If he wants primary care physician notes on you the office will get them. He has done over 6500 surgeries and has been in bariatrics since 2003. He would not have you go to a outpatient facility if he felt you were high risk and needed to be in a hospital setting. If you meet all criteria to be able to go home, they will allow you to go home. But the criteria is strick. You are in great hands! Dr Kim truly cares about you.

Dr Kim at Kim Bariatrics is great! He did my surgery 4 years ago and I am still involved in the support system they have there. You will get support for life at KBI. Monthly support groups, FREE bootcamps for their patients, FREE U Jam classes, Cruises, Hiking events, etc and the private patient only FB support group does monthly Breakfast and dinner get togethers, monthly 5ks, and lots of fun events like bowling, painting, ziplining in DAllas, dancing, toller skating, karaoke nights and lost more!! That is what has helped me be successful in my 90 lbs loss. The office has always been very helpful to me throughout my journey. Dr Kim did my sleeve and two years later Dr Holden took out my gallbladder. All docs on his staff are GREAT! Good luck in your weight loss journey.

Have you called the office manager to see what is going on? If I hadn't got a call back from my coordinator in a few days I would be calling another area of the office to get help. Your coordinator may no longer be working there or maybe you are typing in the incorrect email address or calling the wrong extension? I used Dr Kim. They were wonderful to work with. That is not like them to not call you back so there must be a reason you are not getting a call back.

Hi, Tina, Dr Kim did my inverted sleeve 4 years ago. Hes a great doctor! He doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to your health. He cares about his patients and doesn't sugar coat anything. He is straight forward and I like that in a surgeon. His office was always so nice to me. I've lost 90 pounds and have kept it off. The after care support is amazing with support groups once a month you can watch online since you live so far away. There is also a private patient only Facebook support group that is very encouraging as well. We do lots of fun things together each month. The key to success is staying connected to a support system and to have WLS friends that used the same bariatric office makes a HUGE difference! They have a hiatal hernia program if you have insurance. Its a discount program. Give them a call. You will not regret it!

Hi! Dr Kim did my inverted sleeve almost 4 years ago! I've lost 90 and doing well keeping it off! Hes a GREAT doctor. He does not beat around the bush at all. He will be straight forward with you. He is very serious about people and getting their lives changed through WLS and he cares a lot about you! If you have insurance they have a hiatal hernia program that cost anywhere between 6995-8995 depending on your insurance and if it qualifies for that program. Of course you would have to have a hiatal hernia program too which is very common. It is possible though, he may put you on a weight goal to get to before surgery. If you carry a lot in your belly area its very possible. He wants his patients to have a safe surgery. The support is amazing going through Kim Bariatrics. The office support groups are held once a month in the office but you can watch them online. They also offered once a month FREE fitness events. Also we have an amazing private patient only Facebook support group you can join after you have surgery. We do lots of fun things together each month! We have gone dancing, bowling, roller skating, ziplined, and we had our very first KBI cruise this past year!! I know you live far away but being on that group helps you big time because you are surrounded by the same information that your doctor teaches. Hi, all, so I finished my first 3 weeks of Camp Gladiator and I have signed up for another 6 months! I love this workout!! Its hard core! I am almost 4 years out so I needed to up my exercise more. I am down 90 lb from the sleeve sx but want to loose another 40-50. Have any of you done CG? Do you still stick to a high protein, low carb diet or have you had to increase your calorie intake due to these hard workouts? I go to 6 CG camps a week and the next 4 weeks are starting tomorrow. I would love to know what your diet has become with CG.
