I get this awful headache after eating my meals...anyone else get these? I don't know if I'm eating too fast or what...BUT, I'm only eating 1/4 cup for my lunch and I get them everyday since my last fill about 3 weeks ago. Any suggestions on "WHY" Thanks Janine:help:

Ok, explain something to me..... I just got another fill on August 2nd and I have been doing ok, for the most part....BUT how do you know when you are at your "sweet spot?" Do you continue to lose weight at that point, or do you just stay netural? I've had my band since Nov. 2004, but for about 1 1/2yrs I only had 2cc's in a 4cc band,(which did me NO good at all) and now I just got a fill to 3.25cc, which seems a lot tighter and more restricted. (found a dr. a lot closer to where I live) anyway, will I feel this restriction for the rest of my life at this fill? I have lost 10lbs in two weeks, which is wonderful, but I need to lose another 40lbs. I haven't PB or got anything stuck yet, which seems to be a good thing, but I do seem to eat dinner with a lot less restriction than with Breakfast and lunch. I'm really hungry at dinner and seem to have a "hole in the bucket" and eat way more.:hungry: Why is this? Is this normal? Anyone else feel like me? Any suggestion and or help:help: would be more than appreciated..... Thanks Janine

Hi Cheryl: Boy, your in my backyard. I'm from ELk Rapids, Michigan and I had my band done with Dr. Bout/Dr. Bhesiana in Port Huron. I just loved them. That facility is so nice and very helpful and clean. I had Dr. Bout do mine in Nov 2004. and he was wonderful. I would stick with BC/BS of Michigan, they paid for my entire band, minus my co-pay of $2,500. Don't go to Mexico if you don't have too. Get a letter from your family dr. that states you have been on 3 or more diets in the past two years and they all have failed. I started my process (insurance process in May and was approved by November 2004) It was worth the wait for sure. I also seen a psy....?( can't spell dr.) in Traverse City on 8th street that did my syc evaluation. I had it all done in Traverse city. They are also doing this procedure now at Munson Medical Center. Check out the dr. there. I don't remember their names, but if you call Muson, I' m sure they will know. I know the frist woman that had it done at Munson and she looks wonderful know. If you need more information, I would love to talk to you. E-mail me or call me on my cell 239-821-8884. Thanks for the information on the cup size. I just had lunch and had about 3/4 cup of rice and ground up turkey, and five club crackers and that filled up to my neck! I can't believe the difference when the band if filled. I let it go for too long. I'm hoping my weight will start going south again. I need to loose 45lbs, and I would be at my "Sweet Spot" as for this fill, I will wait and see if it holds true, otherwise I'm going in for another fill. I think this is only like my fouth fill since my band in November 2004, but for 1 1/2 years only had 2cc in the 4cc band and I ate like a pig, I guess. I didn't think i was eating much, but NOW since I have been eating sooo little, (since Friday) I look back and I was eating like a normal person, plate portions. I never got the hang of this band, but I think finally I am. I haven't been sick at all. But, have had a few PB's and stucks! But, that's from eating too much and too fast, apparently! Any suggestions on food, would be greatly appreciated. I can't do scramble eggs, NO WAY! anything else is pretty much ok! Thanks again Janine Naples, FL

JAD: Dr. Gomez is a wonderful dr. in Miami. His office is at Maimi Mercy Hospital. His number is 305-285-5090. His name is Dr. Eddie Gomez. I had to see him a couple of times since I moved from Michigan to Naples. I had to drive all the way over there for a fill! Just crazy! Since then I just found a dr. here in Naples, FL that will do my fills, but wasn't crazy about seeing me, since I wasn't his patient in the first place. Anyway, hope this helps you. Janine

Actually, I'm from Naples, FL and Dr. Lieberman is doing the lap band procedure as well as the gastric by-pass. Believe me, when I called his office I begged him to see me, since I already had my band from Michigan. It took me 2 years of begging and finally last Friday, he saw me and filled me up. I was so happy! He is a wonderful dr. He is at the new Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, FL used to be called Cleveland Clinic. I live in Bonita Springs, and work in Naples. How did they put 4.2 cc in a 4 cc Band? I have a 4cc band as well and just had it filled to 3.25cc. I still think I could go tighter, but I was at 2 cc's for two years and gained 26lbs back, so I'm again on the road going south. I too, had to drive so far to see a doctor that would take me, its just crazy. NOW, I have a dr. that is literally only 10 minutes away. I hoping a praying this band will work for me. I only was down 13 lbs since banded in Nov. 2004. How much should I actually be able to eat? as in cups? I'm learning this all over, but I want to loose the weight soooo bad. Hi there: I was from Michigan too--Elk Rapids. I got my band on November 8, 2004 and I love it. I had Dr. Bout do it, he was wonderful and is SO CUTE!!!. I had BC/BS of Michigan and they paid the entire bill, except my deductable. Let me know if I can help you, but Dr. Bout would be my first pick. Very good!!!!:clap2:

Denice: Nice to hear from you...I would not push it right away. Your still in the begining stages and your body needs to adjust to your new way of eating. You may be gaining muscle, since your walking every day and muscle weighs more than fat, remember that. Just watch the way your clothes fit you and the inches are more important than pounds. I know how you feel...I just had a fill and I have not lost one pound, but I noticed the way my clothes fit me and the way my body feels. Its hard to explain, but you will do just fine. I eat everything and I don't have one bit of problem, just not a lot of anything and chew, chew, chew. I don't do a lot of bread, since bread turns into sugar and cream Soups are high in calories. Watch the fat and calories in your food. I would just suggest eating good lean meats, ham, turkey and chicken. God, I eat a lot of chicken. I try to stay away from starches and of course, cakes, Cookies and sweets.. The more you loose the more your body will adjust to what you are eating and your sweet level will go down. I used to have sweet cravings all the time after dinner, now, not so much. I just ignore them, go outside or something....hum! I think you will do fine. We all were in your position in the begining, just be patient and God will take care of you and make you healthy again. What are you looking to loose? How much weight did you start at? It seems that the people on here that start at a very high weight, loose the weight faster. Probably a lot of Water in the begining. I had my band done in November 04 and i just hit 40 pounds. I really need to loose another 20 to be where I really want to be. I started at 257. Good Luck and don't get discouraged! You will be just fine. Talk to you soon. 40 Pounds Too. I Am A Little Slow, I Think, But Doing Good. This Last Fill Has Really Helped Me. I Feel The Difference Now. I Actually Had Some Meat Stuck Twice Now, And Believe Me....i Am Really Pay Attention To What I Eat And How I Chew. I Had A Bowl Of Cereal For Dinner Last Night And That Was It....

Hey there: I was wondering how your TT went. Are you feeling ok? Yes, I went to Dr. Gomez and he was just great. They are moving up to the 5th floor, I think of the hospital, so needless to say, I was shocked when I walked into their office. What a disaster!! I wasn't sure if I wanted this dr. to touch me or not at that point. But, come to find out they were moving so I felt a little at ease. Yes, we should get together some time and go together. My husband went with me. He empted me out at 2.2 and put back in 3cc. My band only holds 4cc, so I for sure can feel the difference. I am at work, but will check back in with you later today. Hi Estela! I contacted the dr. in Naples and he won't see me either. I had mine done in Michigan...So, I think i will contact your dr. and see if he would see me. I have Atena insurance, and they said they would cover the cost. I had Blue Cross and my surgery was covered in full. I was so happy! I can't believe I am having such a hard time finding a dr. here. What's up with that? I would love to be able to get into your dr. WOuld be nice to go the same day!!! Probably not possible, but I will see. Did you say July 6th? May be we could ride over together. Since I have no clue where I am going Ha-Ha! I will call them and let you know what they have to say. There is another dr. I found here on the board, dr. grossband and everyone seems to like him. However, I don't know if he will see me or not either. I may be flying back to MI.....I will keep in touch. How far away are you? Iam not sure of where your at. Janine

Hi! Try Port Huron Hospital Lap Band Center. They are wonderful. I don't know where you live, but I lived in Elk Rapids, around Traverse City and I drove down to Port Huron once a month for several months. THe Dr. name is Anthony Boutt! Wonderful dr. He did my band in November 04. Good Luck Janine

Hi there! Thanks for the reply. I was banded in Michigan by a wonderful dr. in Port Huron. I would love to contact any dr. in Naples, if there is one. Do you have his name and/or number. I need to get into see one soon. I had my last fill in March and I am due for another one. I was thinking about flying back to MI, but would cost me more to fly plus the fill than just finding a dr. down here. I would love to meet you sometime in the near future. Where down here in Naples does your sister live? I live right off I-75 and Whipperwhool. I have only been down here 3 months. It's so expensive to live down here, I think we may be moving up north within the next year. Do you have any kids? I have a 2 1/2 year old boy and a 13month old girl.
