Today was my second day on liquids. Compared to the first day, today was a million times better. I think the weekends are going to be the hardest. It's a lot easier to Be on point when the weekday craziness consumes your life!! Still having a lot of cravings but I've learned to get the heck away from my triggers. Cleared out a lot from my fridge!!

Nervous - I Begin My Pre-Op Diet Today
nursemeg89 replied to Zuzureed's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
You guys are such an inspiration. Today is day one of my pre-op diet and I am a little moody. I'm REALLY glad I am not scheduled back to work until Tuesday, night shift. Nothing worse than a miserable nurse. Hopefully, I adjust some by then. I am doing 14 days of 6 optifast shakes per day and then I have one day of sugar free clear liquids the day before my surgery. November 19th cant come soon enough. Hoping for some encouragement from you guys b/c i need it today! -
Hi all! I just found out yesterday that my insurance has approved my sleeve gastrectomy for this November 19. I wanted to share my excitement and readiness. I am a RN at the hospital that I will be having surgery at, which made this decision easier for me. I trust and respect my surgeon because I've worked with him countless times to take care of his post-op patients on my floor. We don't care for his immediate post-op bariatric patients on my floor, but ive cared for many of his other surgery cases. Its very comforting to know the hospital staff that will be taking care of me post-operatively. Basically, I CAN'T WAIT!! I wish everyone the best of luck

This weekend I went out and tried to prep for surgery by buying a lot of what I think I'll need. I bought some of those blender bottles for protein mixing, 2 oz food containers, and some baby silverware to start off I am so excited for us. November 19th will be here before we know it!!! Best wishes to you -

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
nursemeg89 replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi November sleeves! Time is really flying by for us, so I thought I had better jump on here and introduce myself. I am 23 y/o registered nurse who is employed at the same hospital that I will be having my sleeve gastrectomy on NOVEMBER 19th!! I couldn't be happier with my surgeon, every time I call him to communicate about one of his post-op patients that I am taking care of, he finds the time to ask how I am and check in on me. I can honestly say he is just as excited about his patients' successes as they are! I thought it would also be kind of cool for us to list the things that we are MOST excited about (because that's just fun) 1. To be a healthy, active young woman. I want to be off of my blood pressure medications and more willing to be physically active because it wont feel so impossible 2. To totally pass by those plus size stores and sections 3. To share clothes with my best friends again! 4. To take wedding pictures that I can be proud of when my long-term boyfriend finally proposes... 5. To weigh less than my boyfriend for the first time ever! 6. To not get asked when I'm due anymore (dont u guys love that?!) 7. To love mysel more!! 8. To get back into my passion- horseback riding without honestly worrying if I might be hurting the horse I could go on forever! Tell me your "most excited" lists please!!! -

Wow, I am so excited to hear how successful you both have been! I am a year younger than both of you and have heard that women in our early-twenty age group have a lot of success. I can't wait for my surgery...November 19th! -

November 20 Surgery Date And Thanksgiving Irony!
nursemeg89 replied to crickee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is November 19, so I totally understand where you're coming from. I am a nurse and don't usually get to spend Thanksgiving with my family, so I'm actually really excited to be guaranteed to spend this holiday with them (even if I am just relaxing in my PJs). Next Thanksgiving, life will be completely different for us, I can hardly wait to see where I am a year from now. My family is extremely supportative of my decision and they made a vow to stop making every holiday so much about eating. We are going to incorporate a fun physical activity into every holiday from here on out! Although my closest family members (Mom, boyfriend and siblings) don't struggle with their weight, my cousin and Aunt both just had bariatric surgery. I am very fortunate to have them as a support system! good luck <3 -
Hi all! Yesterday I had my 1:1 meeting with the dietician when I asked her to help me set a goal weight. She pretty much left it up to me, I am currently about 294 and set my goal for 150 pounds. I am scheduled for my gastric sleeve November 19th. I know that this is attainable, with focus and dedication. However I am looking for some insight. In your experiences does it seem like my "goal weight" is feasible. Thanks for all your support
